If you are a Florida resident, or planning to visit Florida this summer vacation and you are looking for a one of a kind experience this summer I would love to let you know about my experience with the world-renowned and outrageously fun Blue Man Group show at Universal CityWalk that I was able to go to just a few days ago.
While spending some time in St. Augustine, Florida some of my family members and yours truly headed to Orlando for a super fun day in the city and had a blast at the Universal Orlando CityWalk.

The very first thing I want to mention is something I did not know myself…As you might know there are lots of things to do in Universal even for those that are not visiting the parks as there are a ton of different restaurants, shops and places to visit in CityWalk. What I did not know (even though it says so right on the parking entrance), is that parking goes down to just $5.00 after 6:00pm…Now one thing that is not shown on the sign is the fact that Florida residents DO NOT PAY for PARKING after 6:00, so all you need is a Florida ID in order to get the free parking (AFTER 6:00 PM).

But let’s go back to the show. I have been dying to see the show ever since I learned about the Blue man group, but never had the chance to go to the show, so I was really excited to be able to watch the show even though I was not quite certain as of what to expect.

The show began a little after 7:00pm and I must say that even before the show really started they found a way to engage the whole audience and they had people laughing and interacting even before the Blue men ever set a foot on stage!

This unique show combines music, comedy and multimedia theatrics to craft a very enjoyable party atmosphere that is a Blue Man Group trademark. The production has been custom-designed for Universal Orlando and includes elements of the group’s existing shows as well as newly created material exclusive to this production.

The show is filled with funny moments from beginning to end and I found myself following all the movements of the group with a smile on my face even in the times that the show got a little gross as there are some skits that involved them “playing with food” which has always been a big pet peeve of mine, regardless…I found myself smiling the whole time the show was on.

There are some really neat scenes and the group manages to keep the whole show interactive and engaging to the whole audience.

The music was great, but I was surprised to learn that the show is way more than just percussion and a bunch of blue guys playing instruments. They have found a way to ingeniously combine, music, lights, color, paint drumming, acting and technology including the use of giant iPads and creating a must see show that is appealing to a wide range of people as the audience was filled with people of all age and ethnicities and one all of them were having a blast at the show.

Needless to say I really enjoyed the show and found it remarkable how they kept the public wanting more of the show…The show lasted about an hour and a half and not for one minute did my eyes leave the stage.

If there was one thing I could change…it would probably be the fact that there were no cup holders on the seats and as you can imagine that is certainly not a deal breaker!

Show times vary, so you want to check their schedule to find the day/time that works best for you. The tickets start at $60 and there are diffent specials offered to meet your needs.

I would highly recommend the show and would go watch it a second time myself if the opportunity comes!
