When I got pregnant with my daughter I suffered from hyperemesis which kept me in bed for most of my pregnancy and as I result I had very little time to research as much as I would have liked to about baby products and I basically went with whatever other people told me to go with. This time around when I am planning on having my second bug, I know better and I also know that baby monitors are a key element among the must have baby products. The D-Link baby monitor is fairly easy to set up…I already have the D- Link app on my iPad, so adding the new camera was a breeze.

The camera is very user friendly and D-Link made sure to keep the camera simple to use while being packed with a lot bells and whistles. You can access all the different options by pressing one of the four buttons on top of the unit. The D-Link baby monitor has many neat features like the 720p HD Video Quality that provides you with a great quality image of your baby, and yes, the must have Night Vision that features Infrared LED which conveniently turns on automatically when it gets dark.

The camera I had when my daughter was a baby did not provide a very clear image at night time, so I needed something that works better the second time around. My old video camera then had horrible sound detection, so I had a sound monitor in her room in addition to the baby monitor which solved the problem at the time, but I had to keep the sound monitor and the camera monitor with me and also took more space in my night stand and the baby’s room than needed.

The Day/Night HD Wi-Fi Baby Camera DCS-825L from D-Link has a nice Sound and Motion Detection- that warns you of loud noises like for example when your baby is crying. One more thing that the Day/Night HD Wi-Fi Baby Camera DCS-825L from D-Link has that I really like is the Temperature Sensor that features an indicator light that informs you if the baby’s room becomes too hot or cold and that is huge for me, especially here in Florida where temperatures can get quite high.

In addition, the Day/Night HD Wi-Fi Baby Camera DCS-825L from D-Link, has Two-way Audio that comes in very handy when you are in another room and want to calm your little bundle when she is crying…. I Love this features which was also missing on my old camera. To make this baby camera even better, D- Link included 5 Pre-Recorded Lullabies that are awesome when it is nap time and bed time as I do believe that music helps babies relax and go to sleep easier.

What really sets this camera apart from the rest/ besides all the neat features I have already mentioned, is that there is also the MicroSD/SDHC Card Slot- This records snapshots and videos triggered by motion or sound and to make this camera an absolute must have, it comes with Interchangeable accent color rings ( pink and blue). So no matter the sex of your baby or if you buy the camera before knowing the baby’s sex …D- Link has got you covered. The Interchangeable accent color rings are very easy to exchange, just snap them in and twist to tighten them up.

The Day/Night HD Wi-Fi Baby Camera DCS-825L from D-Link has a retail price of $179.99.
