Encouraging my kids creativity has always been very high on my list of priorities. I am always looking for ways to promote my daughter’s imagination (eventually I will do the same thing for baby J).

My latest finding? STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) toys! My daughter already practices different STEM activities at school and toys that promote her development sounded like a no brainer for me.

I have recently found two great STEM toys manufacturers: Brackitz and Assessments Services. The truth be told, I never heard of either brand until just a couple of weeks ago, but I am really happy I learned about both companies!

Assessment Services

I know the name does not sound like fun toys, but let me tell you that this company has probably the coolest cubes I have seen so far!

Omnifix Cubes

Unique cubes feature a connector on all six faces. Omnifix Cubes can be linked in any direction to create rods and blocks or geometric and abstract forms…Let me start with saying that the cubes come completely flat and the first step to use the cubes is to actually assemble them which according to my daughter and her best friend AK, is already fun.stem toys

The Omnifix Cubes come in sets of 100, 300, 500, or 1000 cubes with four bright colors and measure about 2cm. The kids snap the flat shapes together in order to form a cube which can then be linked to other cubes.

The Best part? Students in the middle elementary grades and up can explore, number bases, fractions, cubed numbers, tessellations…who would have thought, math can be fun!

My daughter and her little friend LOVE the Omnifix Cubes and are always looking forward to getting their hands on them… One Word of advice, a hundred cubes might not be enough, especially if kids are sharing them. But since these cubes are only about $10.00 for a set of one hundred, getting a couple of hundred would not hurt your budget.

Brackitz

An Open-ended construction toy that allows kids to build virtually any structure they can imagine!

Their distinctive, connect-anywhere brackitz attach to traditional planks at any point and any angle, allowing users to design contraptions that are not possible to build with traditional construction toys.

Great to help kids develop architectural skills and imaginative play. With Brackitz, the sky is the limit as kids can create impossible 3D structures that are a lot of fun to create; these toys are perfect for play dates!

Available in different kit sizes with the smaller being a 28 piece kit with a retail price of $19.95 and the biggest set being 320 pieces with a wheeled container, these are a bit pricier, but worth it!

I received the smallest piece set ( 28 pieces), and these do not come with the wood planks which look like a lot of fun, so I am already contemplating getting a bigger set for my daughter’s birthday…This might even be a cool activity for the kids at the birthday party!

The Brackitz are not for kids less than 3 years old, so keep that in mind when shopping for them!
