I received a car seat to facilitate this review. I was not financially compensated for this post. My opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part.

Are you planning to travel with your kids during the Holidays? Are your kids older or are they still in a car seat?  I don’t know how you feel about this, but I will have my kids (both the baby and my 8 year old) in a car seat as long as I can and the reason is very simple, they are safer in a car or booster seat.

When shopping for a car seat, the first thing to decide is if you are going to start off with an infant car seat or a convertible car seat.  There are benefits to both, so it is a matter of preference and it is really important that you see the benefits of each and decide what works best for you.  If you decide to start your little bundle of joy with a convertible car seat, I highly recommend that you get a car seat that offers all the safety features possible.  I for one want my baby to be safe and comfortable in his car seat!

Diono  knows the needs of today’s families, and designs, travel solutions for families on the go.  Diono car seats and travel accessories are well known for the quality and safety of their products which are made with ease of use in mind for its line of convertible and booster seats.

This holiday season, I am keeping my kids safe with the Diono Rainier

The Diono Rainier

With new extra deep side walls of these car seats are built to provide enhanced side impact protection. The Diono Rainier can be used for babies as small as 5 pounds and go all the way up to 50 pounds in its rear facing position.  After they outgrow this, it can then be placed face forward for kids starting at 20 pounds all the way up to 90 pounds in the 5-point harness mode (up to 57″ in height). I will keep the baby in the rear facing position for as long as it allows me to.  Once your kids are past the 90 pounds limit, your Diono Rainier convertible car seat can be used as a booster seat for kids up to 120 pounds, so this car seat will grow with your kids from day one!

My favorite features?  There are several great features in this car seat.  The infant body support cushions and memory foam that adds extra comfort for the little ones, is certainly one of them.  I also love the fact that the Rainier has additional forward-facing recline positions to fit different types of vehicle seats.  It also comes complete with a 12-position adjustable headrest, 5 shoulder and 3 buckle positions to provide the older kids with a comfortable ride also.

Comfort, Style and Safety

While comfort is really important, it is not the only thing (or the most important) you get out of this convertible car seat, as the Rainier also features energy absorbing EPS foam and side impact protection for extra safety and the Safestop® energy-absorbing harness.

Need more reasons to love this car seat? This space saving design convertible car seat, comes with an extra set of harness pads to use when your child is over 65 lbs in the 5-point harness.  It also has expandable sides and long seat bottom for correct leg support.  It sits low on the vehicle seat so the kids can easily get on it which is also supposed to be a good thing in case of a crash.

For the kids comfort, it has an angled cup holder.  The cover is machine washable and dryable ( love this feature). It features rubber bottom grips for no-slip installation, and it folds flat for travel.  Plus it is FAA certified!
