When my daughter was a baby, she had the worse colic pains ever and the poor baby would scream in pain every night and it was really painful not just for her but for me as well. Watching her scream for 20- 30 minutes straight was really hard for me and I can’t tell you how happy I was when she grew out of that phase ( right around 4 months from birth).

This time around, I was really hoping my little guy wouldn’t have the same issue but unfortunately that was not the case and my little boy gets the same colic pains his sister had when she was a baby. So every night around 8:00 pm he would start screaming…It is curious that the colic pains would always start around the same time, but after researching about it, that seems to be the norm!

While his crying spells are at a minimum now ( he is now 2 ½ months), he still gets very gassy and can get really fuzzy even when he is eating. This time around, I started using a different approach and started using Colief drops. Colief is an infant digestive aid. This dietary supplement may reduce colic –associated crying by treating the milk. Unlike other colic solutions, you add Colief to the milk before each feeding making it easier for them to digest the milk by breaking down most of the lactose, so you actually are treating the milk opposed to treating the baby once he is in pain.

I learned a lot of things while researching about colic…Did you know that colic affects approximately one in five infants born in the Unites States ( about 1 million babies annually), so a great idea is to be prepared before the baby arrives and add an Infant Digestive Aid like Colief to your baby registry and be prepared. You do not want to find out you need it at 3:00 am and don’t have it! Colief Infant Digestive Aid is available at Walgreen’s.
