I received Penn and Herb products in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
I am a big fan of anything that is natural and I am always willing to try natural remedies and products. Not long ago I was sent a selection of products from Penn Herb Co./ Olbas Herbal remedies.
This was my first time trying their products, so if you are new to the brand like I was, let me fill you about this 3rd generation family owned products that offers costumers fresh, high quality herbs and spices in selected forms: tea, powder, extract and capsules along with a great selection of finest in pure essential oils, premium natural vitamins, homeopathic preparations, and unique natural remedies from around the earth.
I was sent as I mentioned a few of their products to try:
Lanolin, Anhydrous, 2 fl oz
Pure Lanolin – Serious Moisturizing Skin Care. It is a well-known fact that Lanolin is a great hydrating agent and I was really looking forward to trying this product.
Great for rehydrating dry skin, this yellowish Vaseline looking paste has a bit of a waxy scent from the natural ingredients as it contains no chemicals, perfumes or additives. It is fairly easy to apply and leaves an oily shine on your skin…Lanolin is a natural oil derived from sheep’s fiber after all.
The lanolin feels a bit sticky after you apply it, but nothing too bad…You can always apply it before bed if this is a problem for you. While it can be used for different things, my two favorite’s uses for it are: Chapped skin which I have a tendency to get in my hands and for the lips: my daughter gets lip burns and this works wonders for her and since there are not chemicals added, I have no problems using it on her.
In case you are wondering, Anhydrous means there is no water added!
The Penn Herb Co Lanolin, Anhydrous, 2 fl oz has a retail price of $ 4.95.
Coconut Oil, 8 fl oz
Another moisturizing favorite , the Penn and Herb Coconut oil can be used by itself or combined with essential oils.
The coconut oil is known to promote and improve skin softness and it is used to moisturize dry hair and scalp and is often found in lip balm and skin creams…I personally love using it for massages…warm it up just a bit and apply to skin before massaging!
No need to rinse it off as it is actually good for your skin so think about it as a 2 in one massage oil/ moisturizer.
You can also use it for your hair, but it is an oil, so if you have oily hair, it might not work too good for you.
The coconut oil has a retail price of $ 8.95, and is on sale right now for $6.95.
Olibanum Essential Oil – 10 ml (Boswellia species)
Aromatherapy any one?
Great for relaxing, the famous Frankincense Oil (Olibanum Oil) rejuvenates body and spirit thanks to its rich, balsam-like scent that can be used as a fragrant inhalant or blended with other oils. Frankincense is also a popular skin and body oil.
You can combine this oil to Lanolin and Beeswax to make body creams, lip balms, salves, aromatherapy candles, and a lot more!
Just keep in minds that a lot of these oils must be diluted before using them on your skin, so make sure to have the proper information on hand before doing so.
The Frankincense Oil is quite fragrant so a few drops is more likely what you would need…Available in 10 ml. bottles this would make a great ally the next time you take a bath…. Simply add to a diffuser for a spa like experience!
The retail price on the 10ml. bottle is $16.00
From their Olbas line:
Available in a very handy and portable pocket size, this inhaler is a great thing to have in your purse, backpack and in my husband’s case his pocket!
A must have for allergy season, the Olbas Inhaler helps you with stuffy nose due to seasonal allergies and colds. The inhaler acts really fast thanks to its penetrating vapors that help your nasal pasages to clear easier and it helps to relieve the effects of low humidity.
My husband suffers from allergies , and not just seasonal, so he is often congested…He was the first one to try the inhaler and it just took a few seconds before I heard: I love this stuff!
I must say I really like it too and it makes a huge difference when you are congested! The Olbas Inhaler has a retail price of $5.95.
Olbas Pastilles, 1.6 oz Box (27 Lozenges)-Maximum Strength Cough Drops Clear The Head and Soothe The Throat
These cough drops will provide you with immediate relief of both cough and sore throat while helping the nasal passages to open up. They are quite effective but they do have a bit of an after taste….I was not really crazy with the flavor after I had it my mouth for a while, but they certainly do a good job, plus they have Chlorophyll for fresh breath.
