I limit the access, amount of time, and the type of apps my daughter has access to …You can say that my iPad is really my daughter’s iPad which is loaded with learning programs for my daughter , so whenever she is on the iPad I know she is doing something that is constructive and fun at the same time.

A few days ago I was given the opportunity to try an app and after taking a look at it I decided this would be a fun app that can develop my little bug’s creativity and storytelling skills which is actually something they are working with at school.

PlayTown My Story Maker app allows kids to create, personalize and narrate stories while bringing their imagination to life. The app is a lot of fun but your kids might need a little help to learn how to manage the different options available as you can create different scenarios and then personalize them by choosing different characters for your play and then change the characters hair color or add different accessories to make the whole experience more fun.

The first step is to select an Adventure Play Set; play sets can vary from traveling to playing sports to even exploring outer space.  The free app comes with one setting which is a pirate theme that is available after you download the app, but you can download even more scenarios, some of them for free and some of them you will have to buy. I counted a total of three free options which is pretty good. My Story Maker invites you to create and build adventures, select your own stages, props, accessories and cast of adorable characters—such as princesses, monsters and jungle friends.  You have the ability to choose between 6 different stages to set up the little adventure.

The kids also have the option to listen to a story or create their own and add their own voices… The kids can really have a lot of fun and let their imagination take off.  Once the story is completed, the kids can see their creation with the play back feature and share with family and friends within the app! (Which I must say my kid loves)

The application is available for iPad and Androids.  I for some reason (probably my iPad in need of an update), had problems getting the app to work on my iPad, but it worked perfectly on my android phone.
