Summer is just around the corner and with the sun and heat comes spending more time outdoors and of course a camera is a must for those moments that need to be captured. I was given the opportunity to try one of the Vivitar cameras that will certainly come in handy for the family vacation this summer. The product(s) provided for the review were sent to me free of charge from the company or the PR agency. My opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part.

For this review I was sent the ViviCam S1527 Digital Bridge Camera that features an 18x optical zoom, which provides the user with an equivalent focal length of 28-504mm. The camera also features a 16.1 Megapixel resolution. As for the quality of the images, I have added a few different shots in different conditions, so you have a good idea of the way the pictures come out.( I will add some night shots later on tonight).

In addition , the ViviCam S1527 Digital Bridge Camera records video in 720p high definition and can easily share and save your images by either USB or HDMI. The 3.0″ LCD screen will allow you to frame your shots easily.

I think the camera is pretty light weight for its size and the type of camera it is. One of the best features on this camera is the 18X digital zoom (equivalent focal length of 28-504mm) on the camera that allows me to get great shots of fairway objects.

The camera is very user friendly and has many features that will help you get the best shots with the least amount of effort. Among the different features you will find available on the ViviCam S1527 Digital Bridge Camera, you will find face and smile detection, Red eye reduction, and the very handy anti-shake feature which is another big favorite for me.

The camera also has SD card support and HDMI video output (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), that allows you to transfer your videos and photos to other devices like a TV or computer easily. The camera also features face detection , smile detection and even blink detection…the camera is really meant to point and shot and makes your photos the best at all times.

The ViviCam S1527 Digital Bridge Camera also allows you to change the image size, image quality, continuous shots, back light, scenery, text ( really nice if you need to take a picture of a document)…These are just some of the many different options available with the ViviCam S1527 Digital Bridge Camera.

The ViviCam S1527 Digital Bridge Camera is powered by 4 AA batteries (I highly recommend the use of rechargeable batteries) and has a retail price of just 125.00.

I was also sent the SK-301SLR Hard Shell Case Starter Kit. This starter kit includes a high quality Hard Shell Carrying Case, that helps you to protect you camera while not in use. Its hard shell construction is shock proof and seems to be very durable thanks to the materials used on it. Along with the case the kit comes with an LCD Screen Cleaning Kit with a specially formulated cleaning fluid and microfiber cloth. The last piece on the kit is the The Vivitar Mini Tripod which is a small compact design that is very easy to carry with you while on the go not to mention that it fits all digital cameras.
