Spin Master began in 1994 when three university friends armed with $10,000 set out to build a
business. Ronnen Harary, Anton Rabie and Ben Varadi’s first product was called The Earth
Buddy, a small, pantyhose-covered head filled with grass seeds that sprouted hair when watered.
The Earth Buddy became a Pet Rock-like phenomenon and an unexpected hit, providing the
partners with a firm foundation to sprout their next idea.
Spin Master has broken barriers in Food Activity (McDonald’s Flurry Maker, Hershey S’mores
Maker, 7-11 Slurpee Maker), Activity (PixOs, Moon Sand, Aquadoodle, Paperoni, Glodoodle),
R/C (Air Hogs), Boy’s Action (Bakugan), Dolls (Liv), Extreme Sports (Tech Deck), Furniture
(Marshmallow), and more.
I had the chance to try two of the Spin Master products, the Dragonoid Colossus that was released earlier this fall and have created quite a fuss. The Dragonoid Colossus is a really neat mix between a dragon and a robot. The Dragonoid Colossus is composed of 1 Bakugan , 4 pieces of the Bakugan battle gear and 1 transformation hub. The very first step to take in order to prepare your Dragonoid for transformation is to assemble the four pieces of battle gear on to the transformation hub.
All the components of the Draganoid come fully assembled and ready for action. Among the components you will find: Draganoid Colossus transformation hub, Battalix Draganoid Bakugan, four pieces of battle gear, four battle gear reference cards, and one Gate card.
The toy is really neat, once you have all the components attached and in position, simply drop the round Bakugan( Batalix Dragonoid ) onto the transformation hub and it springs and starts the immediate transformation.
The other Spin Master product I had the chance to try was one the of the Liv dolls. This cute teenage doll features 14 points of articulation and easy to change wigs so you can have a world of options on how to play with your dolls, like a real teenage girl, the Liv dolls has a sense of fashion and a very defined personality……There are 5 different Liv dolls to choose from, so you can go with the doll that you feel the most identified with! The dolls also feature real glass like eyes which gives them a very unique look.
Spin Master sent me Daniela to review. The Liv dolls are thicker than a traditional Barbie and their head is also a bit bigger, I am guessing to facilitate the ability to change the wigs, which by the way is my favorite feature….You get a couple of different wigs and it is like you get a new doll with each wig!
Daniela came with a guitar, harmonica, music book, a hair brush, and a bandana for her hair and a bandana style scarf and earrings!
The dolls are meant for kids 5+
You can find more about Bakugan on Facebook and Twitter and the Liv dolls on Facebook.
