This is a sponsored post on behalf of Allstate Insurance. My opinions are my own and by no means influenced by any other part.
October is Breast Cancer awareness month and to support this important cause, Allstate Insurance has teamed up with writer HoIlye Jacobs to offer free Silver Lining Companion Guides to everyone impacted by breast cancer.
The Silver Lining Companion Guide is a hands-on and reassuring resource to help anyone impacted by breast cancer. The author, whom is a nurse and cancer survivor, offers useful, truthful and encouraged advice that helped her from the time of her diagnosis throughout treatments and into recovery.
The guide is a summarized version of Jacob’s New York Times bestselling book “The Silver Lining: A supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer which is also launching the Spanish version of the guide to accompany the English version currently being shared with women nationwide.
Every year approximately 250,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer – it’s the most common cancer and leading cause of cancer death among Hispanic and Latina women.
“Allstate is dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of women across the country,” said Stacy Sharpe, senior vice president of corporate relations, at Allstate Insurance Company. “It is Allstate’s hope and the hope of our agency owners across the country who have volunteered to distribute the guide, that it will prove to be a source of comfort, knowledge and inspiration to all who read it.”
The free companion guide is available for download or for pick up at participating distribution centers and select Allstate agencies nationwide. Download or find the nearest participating distribution center at Allstate.com/SilverLining.
In honor of this amazing and generous initiative to share the Silver Lining Companion Guides, Allstate is offering an awesome giveaway that includes:

I am always looking for ways to help this cause since my aunt passed away from breast cancer. I like to donate scarves, hats, wigs to various places for those that are going through treatment. Thank you for the chance to win a very nice prize.
I think breast Cancer awareness is very important. We all need to do what we can to help. Thanks for the giveaway!
Breast cancer awareness is near and dear to my heart because my grandma is a breast cancer survivor. It is to important to be on top of screenings! They really do save lives.
Breast Cancer Awareness is so very important in educating all of us on things we can do to help avoid and end this terrible disease. I am always looking for ways to help, buying pink items and sharing related articles on social media 🙂
Breast Cancer awareness is very important to me after just losing an aunt to it. I never thought about it til it hit so close to home!
I try to buy at least one pink item once a year to contribute to the cause. Breast Cancer Awareness is very important to both women and men. I also make sure to have a yearly mammogram and spread the word to my friends who keep putting it off.
I think it is great because I see all of the signs and advertisements for it and it may help someone. I haven’t had a mammogram in 4 years so I’m getting it done this week because of all of the notifications.
I think its really important. It helps to educate everyone. It also gets us closer to a cure.
I wear pink throughout October. I have lost several friends and family memebers to cancer, so I try to do all that I can. I help in anyway I can year round.
I like to wear pink for breast cancer awareness month. Our family dentist passed away 2 years ago from breast cancer so it’s on our minds. I will need a mammogram this coming year.
My mom passed of breast cancer so for our family awareness is a big issue. I wish there was more information put out about new drugs and diagnosis techniques.
I think pretty much everyone has known someone who has fought breast cancer. Several of my cousins take part in the Runs held for Breast Cancer Awareness every year in Indianapolis & Cincinnati. I’m disabled & can’t run, but I try to promote awareness, especially online.
I had my first mammogram last year at age 35 after finding a lump. It was in October of last year actually and was so scary..the lump, not the mammogram. It’s so important for women to be proactive about this. Mammograms are not weird or painful and they save lives.
Breast Cancer awareness is so very important. It makes for a great reminder to woman to get checked and to help support to find a cure.
Breast Cancer awareness is a must. I have had 2 lumpestomies, and get mammograms regularly. So many women “put off” mammograms and self-exams, or visits to the doctor if they feel something is wrong. Face your fears, ladies…..knowledge is power, and can save your lives!
I think it’s so important to make sure all women are aware of getting mammograms. I think that most women put it off and there is no reason to wait if you are of age for screening, I waited and had a scare my first time so now I go every year at the same time.
My Dad died of lung cancer. I get my mammograms each year. It is important to take care of yourself.
I just lost my aunt and cousin to breast cancer. I am deeply hurt by this disease.
Raising awareness for all forms of cancer is so important! I think we need to make sure that everyone knows what to watch for and what kind of resources they have in their community for low cost cancer screenings! It’s so scary that places like Planned Parenthood risk losing their funding when they’re providing hundreds of thousands of affordable cancer screenings each year, and saving who knows how many lives with early detection!
I think Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a great thing to have. More women need to do screenings, so hope it works. I try to buy pink ribbon items to support the cause.
I used to do an annual 10k run for breast cancer awareness. They had to quit doing it because of not enough participation. I also wear pink!
So nice to know that Allstate is doing something to give back, I like supporting that are trying to make a difference. I say use October as a reminder to schedule a mammogram and many people forget AGE is not respected by Cancer, even if you are young, you may need to be screened so it’s always best to ask your Doctor!
I usually like to share stuff about breast cancer awareness. i wanted to do a run but I have four small boys still. Once they get older, I would like to join the run. I think it’s good for people to spread cancer awareness so those who have cancer won’t feel alone. Someone is supporting them.
I like to remind my friends and family to get breast exams. After loosing my mother in law to breast cancer, I really try to instill in other woman the importance of these exams.
Remember to follow your doctor’s advice regarding breast cancer diagnostic tests. There are many options available to woman to obtain mamograms. It is so important to continue to have an annual test to detect any disease process that might be present/
I am always looking for ways to help the cause. We all should contribute in whatever way we can. Mammograms do save lives
My husband lost his mother to breast cancer, so we try to do all we can to donate. I feel the donations are helpful, but we need to be more proactive in our own lives. Mammograms, healthier diets and healthier lifestyles are extremely important.
I think breast cancer awareness is very important. I have known several women who found breast cancer early and are many, many year survivors. I don’t ever forget my mammogram.
I think cancer awareness is so important. I try to support it in small ways, and donate when I can. I have known many friends and family affected by the disease.
My mother-in-law died from breast cancer and never got a chance to meet our daughter…we donate when we can and remind everyone how important it is to get mammograms regularly…she was only 42
As a daughter of a breast cancer survivor and the niece of a wonderful woman who passed away from the disease people find it odd that I don’t think much about breast cancer awareness campaigns. Truthfully, most people are aware of breast cancer. What my mother supports, what my uncle supports and what I support, is breast cancer research (which may be beneficial in treating other forms of cancer) and quality treatments, medications and screenings for low-income women. I like that the items you are giving away are donating part of the proceeds to research.
Truthfully I think everybody on earth is more aware than they want to be by now. Most cancers can be entirely prevented by eating the right diet. Now THAT is something people need to be far more aware of.
I think Breast Cancer awareness is saving lives. It is reminding women to get periodic exams and screenings. Early detection has saved several of my friend’s lives.
Honestly, I think we are all aware of breast cancer by now. I think it’s a great cause, but I personally perfer to donate to the research of other types of cancer, since breast cancer research seems to already have the motherlode of the money.
I think Cancer awareness is important because early detection can save lives. Knowing the symptoms can make you catch the early form of a cancer. Also spreading awareness and raising funds to find the cure for different types of cancer is very important.
I shop and donate to support this great cause, I consider breast cancer awareness is essential for all men and women.
I think it is great and very important. It is a way to educate the people about breast cancer.
I’m not directly involved in any efforts, though my friends and I do remind each other to get checked out regularly.
I think we all know someone who has either had breast cancer or any form of cancer. So to help promote awareness I love to wear pink. I’m a guy, but I’m proud to show my love for others and proud to show that breast cancer awareness is a priority above my own personal taste. <3
I think cancer awareness is very important. I lost my mother to leukemia, my sister has non hodgins lymphoma and my aunt has breast cancer. Cancer seems to run in our family.
In Support Of Breast Cancer Awareness I Support My Favorite Brands And Campaigns. I Think Cancer Awareness Is Very Important. Cancer Awareness Gives People Resources and Guidance They Need.
I am a big supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness. it is so important today and has been for many years. Women of all ages are affected by this terrible disease as well as the family members. I had an aunt that died very young of breast cancer. I am so thankful for the Susan Komen breast cancer for making this a world issues and bringing it to light. men can even get breast cancer, as well as pets. i wish that the insurance companies were more involved in the campaigns and realized the importance of getting the proper screening. the all so many options and some of very confusing. i have to call my dr every yr to find out if i need a more in depth screening than the regular mamagram.
I think making more people of cancer awareness is great. It will encourage more people to received checkups when needed. They should get in a routine that is followed up.
There can’t be too much awareness of cancer. I personally know 2 breast cancer survivors but lost a brother to lung cancer.
I think its really important, we should continue to educate everyone about cancer and getting screened.
What do you thing about Cancer awareness?
i think its very important,i pretty much have been lax in promoting it,but thats just because i havent been touched by..it is very important i get moving on this issue..thanks
I think it’s important to be aware of symptoms and to remind about annual mammograms.
I wear pink throughout October its a great cause
My daughter plays travel softball and they have special tournaments in Oct. We usually get special pink uniforms for this and money is donated from the tournament. My daughter’s high school is also selling shirts and we’ve bought one so far and will get more when we get paid. My grandma has had breast cancer twice so we do what we can to help support the cause. Thank you!
Breast cancer research is incredibly important. I wish that more of the money that is raised through October Awareness Month actually went to fund the research needed to battle this disease. The “Pink” idea is great in thought but could go further but every little bit helps. Thanks for the giveaway!
I find it important to raise awareness and funds for this issue. I usually purchase items that help raise funds at a minimum. Sometimes I am able to find other ways to be supportive, too.
Cancer awareness is of the most importance.
Caught early there is a much better chance for survival.
The more we know the more protected we are.
thank you
Breast cancer awareness (and all cancer awareness for that matter) is so important! I know several people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and my very dear friend in college found a lump. It ended up being benign, but it was a very scary time for her (and all her friends). I am a runner and love participating in those fundraiser runs!
I am glad to see there is a month dedicated to breast cancer awareness. Untold lives will be saved. I had an Aunt that died from this horrible disease years ago. Terrible cancer
Breast Cancer Awareness is very important to me, I run the 5k Run for the Cure. I am also having a month long fundraiser at my fitness class for our Relay for Life team.
I always do the walk for breast cancer awareness. I walk in honor of my grandmother whom I lost to breast cancer 32 years ago. I feel like if they had know as much about breast cancer back then as they do now, we wouldn’t have lost her at such a young age. I think breast cancer awareness is so important and we all should do as much as we can to support it.
I work at a diagnostic imaging facility and we specialize in mammograms. Every day I see women taking preventative measures. I get to meet so many amazing Survivors and hear their stories. Awareness is SO important and I’ve witnessed first hand how it saves lives!
I am very involved with Breast Cancer Awareness and local programs. Last weekend I participated in a 3 mile walk to raise money & awareness. In two weeks I am doing another walk. It’s very important that we all do what we can to help raise awareness and money. Remember ladies to get your mammograms and to do self breast exams every month!
Most years I participate in the Relay for Life. Since I have my Dad living with me full time, I can’t do it this year, but will still be baking goodies for the sale and helping in any other way I can. Breast cancer has touched my family in several ways. Awareness is so important for early detection.
I think it’s great because this is something we all need to be aware of.I have an aunt as well as friends who had breast cancer, and they are all survivors.
I’m signed up for a Breast Cancer Awareness walk. I typically do 2-3 per year with different family members or friends joining me. My Mother is a breast cancer survivor, so I think creating awareness is very important.
Breast cancer awareness is extremely important. All women should make sure to get their yearly mammograms. I love all the of the companies that support Breast Cancer Awareness Month every October!
I try to dole out my consumer purchases to companies that support breast cancer research. I might try to participate in s fundraising walk this month. I have a few friends who are breast cancer survivors and am glad continued research is being done.
Breast Cancer awareness is extremely important. Several years ago, my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, she’s ok now. It’s extremely scary.
cancer awareness is important to make those who are unaware of symptoms and signs knowledgeable. I usually do not participate in cancer awareness programs. I will donate when friends are participating in activities.
I work in the medical field. Every year we have Breast Cancer t shirts made. We wear throughout the month in a show of support. We also donate to the cause.
I think Breast Cancer Awareness is a good thing. My Grandmother is a cancer survivor and to have people out there recognizing what she went through and there to support her and others is a great thing.
I feel awareness is important & knowledge & health choices including diet education for prevention. What I do not like is the commercialism that so many companies have made out on this.
Cancer Awareness is very important. Both my parents have been treated for cancer. My cousins husband is currently being treated for cancer. Cancer is not something to ignore.
I have had both friends and family affected by breast cancer. I think its very important for women and men to be aware of breast cancer and do self checks. I like how the awareness programs unite people into working together.
I am a big supporter of the Susan G Komen Foundation. I always wear a pink ribbon bracelet (year round)and in October I have many Pink Ribbon related t shirts that I wear throughout the month. My aunt and my best friend are both survivors.
AFTER LOOSING 2 AUNTS AND ONE FRIEND TO BREAST CANCER ,NOW IM OLDER, I LOVE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MAYBE IF MORE WAS KNOWN BACK THEN OR THEY WERE MORE AWARE AND HAD BETTER TREATMENT SUCH AS NOW ,BETTER OUTCOME,I TRY TO DONATE WHEN I CAN
I think that Breast Cancer Awareness is very important. Every woman should get a mammogram once a year. I know a lot of women with breast cancer. It is something that hopefully can be caught on time. I usually donate to my friend who does the Cancer walk.
My 100 year-old Grandmother is a two-time breast cancer survivor and my aunt passed away from breast cancer when I was 10 years old. My family is definitely aware of breast cancer! My husband and I participate in several walks/runs every year, but we are very careful about which “pink” causes we support because the money does not always go where it is supposed to go and because sometimes it is only pennies that actually get donated.
I’m not actively involved in any campaign. Although, I do purchase items that signify Breast Cancer Awareness and that donate to the cause. My Mother passed from it in 1995 so it is quite important to me. 🙂
I think BC awareness can be very helpful. just like other illnesses there needs to be a lot more awareness out there. I personal haven’t done anything to support it. Im glad there are ppl that do
I am all for breast cancer awareness as my grandmother died from breast cancer. In addition, I am a 5 year breast cancer survivor and just was cleared from my cancer doctor yesterday. I wear breast cancer awareness shirts all year long.
Breast cancer awareness is very important to me because my Grandmother had it. I try to donate buy purchasing items several times a year where a portion of the proceeds go to furthering research. I have also participated in several walks for breast cancer.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I truly think Breast Cancer Awareness is very important..my mom has had a few lumps in past years..all benign but still scary. My great grandma had breast cancer & one was removed because of it. I have been getting mammograms since age 42 & vow to get one every year.
I have supported breast cancer awareness month for quite some time. I had managed a store for 32 years and always sold many items to benefit breast cancer awareness month, I also got together with all my girls and on every Friday we would all wear our pink shirts. I recently retired and I certainly do miss those days, especially since I have a cousin who is a survivor of breast cancer, thank you so very much for another great giveaway.
No one in my family has ever been diagnosed with cancer. But even being young I pay attention to all the signs and make sure to go to my yearly appointment. I think awareness is the key. If you know the symptoms and check regularly, you might be able to catch it early enough.
I think it’s important to raise awareness. It is something I know about since 2 of my aunts died from breast cancer. Luckily, it is also a cancer that can be beat.
I think that breast cancer awareness is very important. My mother had breast cancer and she had to have one breast removed. That’s why it’s important to get regular check ups
Cancer awareness is very important and early detection is key. Regular self exams saved my mother’s life. I am so happy to say that she is 82 years old and a 27 year breast cancer survivor!
I have never known anyone with breast cancer. But I have had relatives with other forms of cancer. It is important for everybody to look for the signs.
I’m not involved in any specific organizations. I have had a couple of relatives go through breast cancer and I do think that helping the people close to you comes first. I think breast cancer awareness comes in many forms… I think it’s important for people to know that diet, lifestyle, and environmental factors come into play with cancer, I don’t feel like that’s talked about enough.
Usually what we do is donate to the cause, be it an outright donation or helping sponsor someone in a walk. I’ve known a few people with breast cancer, and we’ve also done fundraisers/dinners for them. I think it is good to promote awareness and also remind friends and family to get their annual exam.
I think breast Cancer awareness is very important and I am involved with Breast Cancer Awareness and local programs.
Breast cancer awareness is so important and I love seeing different campaigns out there to bring awareness. I’m actually a breast cancer survivor and I participate in Relay for Life every year. It’s a great way to raise funds for breast cancer research and I love being able to celebrate with others who have beaten cancer or giving support to those currently fighting.
I havent had any family members with cancer. I think its very important for women and men to be aware of breast cancer and do self checks. I like how the awareness programs unite people into working together.
I fully support any type of awareness month that is in support for a cure for cancer and other illness. I usually shop for pink products. In my family we have a history of cancer and fully understand the importance of cancer research.
I think breast cancer awareness month is great, my grandmother died of breast cancer and I know how important early detection is.
My daughter is on a Cheer Squad, and they help bring awareness at every game in October by wearing their pink bows, and using their pink pom poms. They even took a picture shaping all their pink pom poms into a pink ribbon to post online for extra awareness.
The bowling alley that I used to go to every weekend for league bowling hosts a yearly Bowl for the Cure tournament to raise funds for Susan G Komen. It is such a great event and it brings in funds as well as breast cancer awareness. I have not been a part of it in the past, but I will be finding someone to bowl with next October so that we can take part.
Yes, my husbandś work heads up an initiative to raise money for the cause and husband and I are very involved with not only donating but gathering donors.
I am aware of all the cancers out there. I lost my older sister to ovarian cancer several years ago.
My mil is a survivor. I remind all the women in my life to get a checkup/mammogram.
we did a pink ribbon campaign at work and made a donation to the breast cancer awareness non profit
I am a breast cancer survivor. I think every woman should have a mamogram performed every year because early detection is important. Don’t put it off and don’t ignore it because it could save your life.
I think all cancer awareness is very important. My bf mother die from brain cancer and she did not find out into it was to late . Cancer awareness is not just for you it for your family.
this issue is near to my heart- I lost my mother to breast cancer at age 55 3 years ago..
I don’t think there’s enough cancer awareness. I’m a 4-year breast cancer survivor thanks to early detection, and I like to spread the word about the importance of early cancer detection and prevention to my friends and family on a regular basis.
i have a few family members with it . my aunt is a 10 year survivor from breast cancer. i make sure i check my breast regularly and get examined
I think it is amazing my aunt is a survivor and I often purchase pink items and things that give back to breast cancer research. It really is amazing too see everything they have accomplished in fighting this disease.
Although I do not do much personally. I do buy pink products for the family. I hope there is enough awareness and research to defeat this cancer.
Breast Cancer awareness is very important. It makes for a great reminder to woman to get checked and to help support to find a cure. I get my mammogram during the month of October. I have a friend who just found out she has breast cancer, thankfully it was caught early
Knowing all you can and spreading breast cancer awareness is very important. I think that unfortunately in the media this month there has been new facts and guidelines that will make things confusing. Now it will be harder to decide when to do breast cancer screening and also the possibility of insurance not covering the mammograms until a much later age.
My family has been touched by breast cancer twice. Breast cancer awareness month is so important to bring attention to this terrible disease to all of us. It is important for us to make the younger generation aware and diligent in self examination.
I have family who run in breast cancer runs and I try to donate whenever I can. I think that cancer awareness is amazing and I know that its helping people.
Thank You for the giveaway…we have family & friends who are BC survivors; we have participated in fundraising events in the past, and we continue to encourage all the women we know to get age appropriate screening from their healthcare providers !
I have very strong feelings about breast cancer awareness. My mom knew so little about breast cancer when she was diagnosed with it and it had reached a far stage by the time they caught it. She found it with so much courage, strength and dignity and always said that she wish she had known more about it. She passed away but I am doing all I can to help make women aware of it.
Breast cancer awareness, treatment and a cure for this horrible disease has become an important cause to me in recent months. My friend was diagnosed at 34 and had a double mastectomy and is now undergoing the process of reconstruction. This is all after having a horrible chemo experience.
