One of my biggest new year’s resolutions for 2016 is a healthier me that goes hand in hand with a more active, happier and lighter weight me!
The very first thing I am doing to start with my new year’s resolutions is a 30 days smoothie challenge with the girls from Simple Green Smoothies that promise to be a fun and healthy way to start the year … There are a lot of people doing the 30 days green smoothie challenge and they send you emails with the different recipes and a kit that tells you about your green smoothie challenge and ingredients for each week of the month!
I have been dying to do something like this, but I had no idea of where to start or how to get good recipes for smoothies. You might say, I can Google for recipes which is true but for some reason, I never felt inclined to, so when a few weeks ago I was pitched the Simple Green Smoothies book with over 100 recipes to lose weight, gain energy and feel revitalized, I have to be honest, I was really excited to see this book.
Simple Green Smoothies Book
The book features a high quality, colorful book with not only the recipes, but pictures of the smoothies and even a 10 day kick start!
Jen Hansard and Jadah Sellner did an amazing job putting the book together and making reading through it fun and easy to understand so beginners like yours truly can follow the instructions without getting overwhelmed.
In the book, Jen and Jadah explain why smoothies are a way of healthier living and what is the difference between juicing and blending which is what you do when you whip up a proper smoothie!
They are very thorough with explanations and how to’s ….A big one for me was the storage, did you know you can store a smoothie in the fridge for up to 48 hours and up to 6 months in the freezer? I had no idea and it certainly makes life easier as I can make a smoothie and store the rest so I do not have to go through the whole process the next day.
I Love the book which has proven to be a very useful tool and source of information! The Simple Green Smoothies book is available on Amazon, Barnes &Noble and as a downloadable iBook. You can get your hands on this fun and informative book for about $16.00 on paper back and around 11.50 for a downloadable book!

I would try any smoothie that can mask the fact that it has veggies in it, lol. I do not want to tast the greens in it (like spinach. I only eat spinach in lasagna or spinach dip.) But I need to eat healthier, & lots of people are doing the green smoothie thing!
