Going somewhere warm for the holidays?
I seriously cannot believe that it is almost December! Time is flying by, and it’s time to start planning for the holidays.
We have two different places in mind: the Dominican Republic and Ohio. Yes, I know, they are totally opposite, but we have family in both places and love spending time in both locations.
I, of course, like to prepare and make sure I have everything we will need to have the best of time in either location.
If we do go to the Dominican Republic this year, I want to visit a couple of the beaches there.
December is Perfect for the Beach
The Dominican Republic is one of the two countries on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. It occupies the western two-thirds of the island while the western one third is occupied by Haiti. To the north lies the North Atlantic Ocean while to the south lies the Caribbean Sea.
There are no real season changes other than a mild drop of temperature, which makes the Dominican Republic a great destination for winter vacations.
Beautiful Beaches
There are many different things to do while visiting the Dominican Republic, and they vary depending on what part of the country you are visiting. This year, I want to spend some time in Bavaro, which has some truly beautiful beaches and landscapes.
The challenge is always knowing what to bring without over packing. For this beach vacation in the Dominican Republic, I would pack a Monster Towel!
Truly a Monster of a Towel
The Monster Towel is said to be the biggest beach towel on the market. This humongous towel is about is ten feet by ten feet ( bigger than a king size bed), but it rolls up compactly and is also very lightweight, which makes it great for vacations.
Made from ultra-soft microfiber, the towel—which includes a carry strap—has corner pockets that you can fill up to keep in place and a hidden corner pocket for small objects.
These versatile towels are great for the beach, camping, picnics, cruises—you get the idea. It’s not only a must for our next vacation but it also a wonderful holiday gift for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
Big enough for the four of us to have a seating surface at the beach or park, I love the towel and the concept, and I certainly love the portability!
Are going anywhere fun this holiday season?
I learned that the phone is GPS enabled, it has the same range as a cell phone, and it cost $49.99. I think this is an awesome way to stay connected to your child without the risk of unsupervised internet time. I would feel comfortable allowing my 9 year old daughter to have one.
