I received a Premama Lactation Packet for this review. I was not financially compensated for this post. My opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part
One of my biggest concerns as a breastfeeding mom, is if I am going to have the required supply to ensure my little one is well fed and that he is getting all the necessary nutrients and vitamins to keep developing as a healthy baby boy.
A few days ago, I was introduced to Premama Lactation:
Premama®, the first nationwide line of natural powdered drink mixes is specifically formulated to support the nutritional needs of expecting and new moms. Premama offers a tasty berry-flavored drink mix supplement designed to mix with non-carbonated liquids and is formulated with Fenugreek, Fennel Seed and Blessed Thistle to help naturally support healthy milk production, along with Folic Acid, Vitamin D3, Calcium and other essential nutrients for both mother and baby.
I have to say that I am very cautious before taking anything because I want to make sure anything I take is safe and beneficial for my little guy, but after taking a look at the different ingredients in the mix, I had no reason not take this new product, so I started taking it.
comes in a 28 packet box and it is very easy to mix…as all you need to do is add the content of a packet to at least 12oz of a non-carbonated drink (I use water). The very first thing I have to say, is that I was surprised on how tasty and even refreshing this mix is. I can feel a little after-taste from the sweetener, but honestly it’s not bad at all, and this is coming from someone that cannot stand sweeteners.
The Premama Lactation is a daily supplement and all you need is to take one packet a day. I usually take mine in the afternoons and take it as a refreshment. Yes, it is pretty tasty and as I already mentioned refreshing when mixed with cold water.
Now I am not sure if it has something to do with the different ingredients in the mix, or it is just my sleep deprivation, but I get sleepy right after I take it, so I take it and then try to take a little nap to get recharged…You can also try to take it before bed.
I asked Premama a few questions that I would like to share with you all:
Q: Is the product safe for baby and mom?
A:Yes! That said, we suggest you always consult with your healthcare practitioner prior to taking any new vitamin.
Q: Are they FDA approved?
A: No; vitamins and supplements are not regulated by the FDA.
Q: Can I take prenatal vitamins while taking this?
A: We don’t see any concerns with taking a prenatal vitamin while taking Premama Lactation. Since most women should continue taking prenatal while nursing, the folic acid will be beneficial. Myo-Inositol is a sugar so we don’t see any issues with that ingredient. Again, we always recommend that women consult their healthcare provider on these types of questions.
Q: where can I buy it?
A: Lactation is available at drinkpremama.com and retailers nationwide including CVS and Amazon.
Q: Do you have different flavors?
A: Lactation is currently only available in the mixed berry flavor.
Q: How soon can I see results?
A: It could take up to 12-24 hours or a few days to see the results. The timing may differ by individual.
