While pregnant, it is very important to eat properly and provide your baby with the right nutrition. By the same token you need to be extra careful with what you eat as a lot of things that are usually good for you, can be harmful for your developing baby. They recommend pregnant women to add fish to their diet, but there are some fish that are completely forbidden and some others you can consume as long as you watch the amount to take and one of those fish is Tuna.
The reason why Tuna can be harmful for your baby is because the amount of mercury found in Tuna. Safe Catch is a safer Tuna that offers you a safer option for pregnant women and small kids. This new brand of tuna fish is setting new standards for the tuna industry. According to the brand, Safe Catch tests every fish for mercury in order to insure that their Tuna’s mercury level is 90% lower than the FDA’s and they contain 5 times the Omega 3s compared to leading brands.
The truth is that the tuna, was really good, actually, the best canned Tuna I’ve tried…Safe Catch Tuna was a lot dryer than other brands I have tried. The tuna was tastier and the pieces were more compact, with bigger chunks which I really liked. My mother, whom can be VERY picky, agreed that the Tuna was really good. Actually, she asked about the brand before she even knew I was doing a review on this Tuna because she knew there was a difference from what we normally buy.
Safe Catch, has a better texture, better flavor and it is safer and healthier for you. So, it is really not a difficult decision. There is of course a difference in price. The Safe Catch albacore tuna has a retail price of $4.50 per can which is about double the price you would pay for a leading brand, but you are paying for a safer product for your baby and there is no price for that.
They also offer you a subscription with which you will get a discount and free shipping. I understand watching your every dollar, but if you are pregnant or looking for healthier food options, I would recommend you give this Tuna fish a try, you will not regret it!
