This is a sponsored post on behalf of iConnect and Pampers . My opinions are my own and by no means influenced by any other part.

I had a really hard pregnancy with both my babies and spent most of the time in bed. It was hard both times and I could have not have gotten through it without the help of nurses that would come to my home 2-3 times a week and change my IV site and eventually my PIK line…During the labor my nurse was one of the biggest supporters and help I had not only during labor but also during the delivery and even after the baby was born…I think we need to realize what amazing work a nurse does and thank them for all they do for us mothers to be and babies!

Pampers has taken an great initiative to thank nurses for all their hard work!

• Pampers Swaddlers announces its #ThankYouNurses campaign – a program that celebrates the essential role nurses play during the first few minutes, hours and days between newborns and their parents.

• The first annual Thank You Nurses campaign, in partnership with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), honors nurses across three award categories: Labor & delivery, NICU and Postpartum.

• To celebrate National Nurse Appreciation Week in May, Pampers Swaddlers is announcing a grand prize nurse honoree to acknowledge her dedication and commitment to making life better for babies and new parents. The grand prize honoree will be featured in an upcoming Pampers advertisement placed with AWHONN.

I can tell you firsthand what an incredible impact, a nurse can be and I personally could not thank Lucy enough (the nurse that took care of me during my pregnancy) and nurse Ann (who helped me during the labor and delivery of baby J). Thank you!!!!!!

Then there are all the nurses from the Neonatal unit that are there to support new parents and babies…Unfortunately, babies do not come with a manual, but luckily we have these wonderful ladies that will come in and teach new moms all kinds of things they will need to take care of their babies once they take them home!

The Best advice and tips  I received from my nurses…Well actually a few of the most important ones?

Be patient, every baby is different… I was having a really hard time getting the baby to latch and I thought that since this was my second child, I had half of the road covered, but the reality is that baby number 2 was nothing like baby number 1 and he had his own agenda!

Another thing I learned and this is not related to babies, is that when you are going to have an IV site for an extended period of time, your site should be flushed regularly to help keeping it from getting clogged.

• From holding their hands during labor, to teaching them how to change a diaper, nurses dedicate themselves to providing the best care for mom and baby, leaving a deep, long-lasting impression that fosters a bond of trust and transcends the hospital experience.

• Nurses help new moms learn how to care for their newborns and encourage healthy development right from the start. Because of their trust in nurses, new moms can be rest assured that everything is taken care of. And even throughout the years, parents will always remember their baby’s first cry, first cuddle, first hiccup, first diaper, and they’ll always remember the nurse that helped them transition into parenthood….I know I will!

Parents trust their nurses to teach them how to give babies the best start in life. Nurses trust the softness and protection of Pampers Swaddlers. As the #1 choice for hospitals in the United States and the first diaper worn by millions of babies, Pampers Swaddlers helps give babies the best start in life. They had a little baby bag for me at the hospital and it included a pack of the Pampers Swaddlers and that is all they had at the hospital…It is where I leaned about the diapers with the Wetness Indicator!
Thank you nurses for all you do and thank you Pampers for honoring them!
