There is a lot of misinformation about hemp, it uses, and its relation to marijuana. Let’s see if I can shine a little light on this very versatile plant.
There are many different varieties of the cannabis plant. While both hemp and marijuana come from the cannabis family, they are genetically different. One of this differences is the fact that hemp has less than 1% THC. They are also different in the way they are cultivated, their uses, and even their chemical makeup.

Hemp and marijuana look a lot alike, but they are very different. Hemp can be grown as a renewable source and utilized as a raw material in the creation of many different products. The seeds and flowers are commonly used in the making of organic body products and even in health foods.
Hemp fibers and stalks are used frequently for hemp clothing, paper, plastic composites, construction materials, biofuel, and many more products.
Why Hemp?
It needs a lot less water to grow than other plants, and it does not need pesticides, which makes it more environmentally friendly than other traditional crops used for the same purposes.

Hemp is also safer for the farmers (remember, no pesticides needed), and it is beneficial for the land
I have been a huge fan of the hemp beauty products since I lived in Spain, but it was not until I discovered prAna and its line of hemp clothing that I actually got to wear a piece of clothing made from this valuable renewable source.
Many different clothing pieces can be made from these fibers, and the result is a lightweight, durable, and breathable piece of clothing that will make a great addition to your wardrobe. Chose from leggings, shirts, dresses, and even jackets for the winter months.
Because I have been a big fan for years and have been looking forward to exploring apparel made with its fibers, I have added two new pieces to my closet.
The Hemp in My Closet
The first piece is a relaxed-fit jacket with a dropped-sleeve design that is perfect for everyday wear without sacrificing my style.

Made from a comfortable hemp, recycled polyester, and TENCEL blend, the Madera fleece is my new staple jacket for this coming season. With two colors to choose from, this jacket is great for wearing with jeans for a put-together casual look.
The second piece added to my closet is also on the relaxed-fit side.

This trendy yet comfortable and casual Yarrow dress also from prAna is available in three different colors and can be worn in different ways for a completely new look. It’s a bit thicker than I anticipated, but it’s a nice little dress for cooler days ahead.
Buy it
Just in time for this season, prAna is kindly offering all Born 2 Impress readers a 15% off your purchase with discount code: PHJE18. Good through November 16.
