I discovered Groupon almost 2 years ago when a friend sent me an email about a laser hair removal treatment they were offering…I am naturally what you might say a hairy person, so I used to have to shave my underarms for example an average of 3-4 times a week in order to not have any stubble, so when I learned about this offer, I was all over it!
I bought my Groupon for the laser hair removal from a company called Laser and Wellness Center that is located in Jupiter Florida. The deal was for 7 sessions and I paid just 99.00 …a great deal! I used all my sessions with this company with no problems whatsoever. The staff is top notch, the office is really clean and soothing. They have the kind of waiting room that invites you to relax and enjoy yourself. I Loved the experience and the service so much that the next time I saw Groupon with a similar deal, I did not think twice and bought it… Now the second time around, the Groupon was for a company called Palm Beach Medical however, this second time around was really different. The staff, the office, and the service was really far different than what I had experienced my first time.
Just so you have an idea of what kind of experience I had in this office, I am going to tell you a couple of the things I experienced when I was there.
On one occasion they scheduled my appointment on my B-day…I told the technician that the appointment was going to be on my b-day, so she offered to change the date which she did and proceeded to give me one of their business cards with the new date. Somehow she did not change the initial date in their books, that is my guess, because when I called to confirm the time of my appointment a couple of days before the appointment, the person on the phone (office manager), told me that I have missed my appointment….I tried to explain to her, that there was a mistake, that I was still in time for the appointment that was supposed to take place in a couple of days…she pretty much told me that I was lying and that I needed to make a new appointment.
I was really upset, so the next time I was at their office I mentioned to the technician what had happened and she advised me to email the owner….I did not want to make a big deal, so I let it pass….my mistake!
For another appointment, I found that I had an email telling me ….you have an appointment on Friday, since it was Monday I assumed they meant that week, well apparently I missed the appointment, because I was out of the country. I called the office still thinking I was in time for my appointment as all they said was you have an appointment Friday.
The office manager told me I had to pay a 50.00 charge for not cancelling my appointment….I tried to explain that I thought the appointment was for that week and that the person who left the message never said the actual date, to what the office manager replied well, you are supposed to listen to your messages!
I would have probably paid the 50.00 if she did not tell me YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO LISTEN TO YOUR MESSAGES. I work for a huge retailer company in which customer service is a huge priority. I also come from a hotel background and again, customer service is priority. This lady, had no idea how to deal with customers, so I told her she could just cancel my account. (I have bought two of them and had 6 sessions left but didn’t want to deal with their unprofessionalism any longer).
I received an email from the business owner apologizing , she actually said that she had instructed the girls to always leave the correct date on any messages, which made me think, this was not the first time it has happened to them.
Since the owner told me they were not going to charge me the 50.00 fee and that I could make my appointment whenever I wanted, I thought I would give them one last try….after calling the office a few times and only getting through to their voice mail, I left a message saying I wanted to make an appointment, to please call me back.
A day later they called, I made my appointment, wrote it down on my phone and personal agenda to make sure nothing happens this time. So the date of my appointment, I am on my way there and got stuck in traffic, so I call to let them know I am running 5 minutes late….to which they responded….you do not have an appointment today!
That was it! At this point, I am pretty much done with them, so I ask to speak to the owner. They told me she was not there, so I asked them to tell her to please call me ….they said they would give her my message…when I asked if they had my number she said yes and hung up on me. That was about 4 months ago and I still have not heard back from them. If they did not give her my message….bad customer service, if they did and she did not call…Bad customer service!
Since then I have bought probably 4 different Groupons for Laser hair removal as my goal is to be free of most body hair….I have seen offers from Palm Beach Medical…but I make sure I do not buy from them as I do not want their service even if it was free…not worth the aggravation! Mean while I just bought a Groupon for the Laser and Wellness Center that cost 20.00 more than what it would cost at .but I gladly pay the difference so that I can deal with professionals.
What you need to know about laser hair removal is that more likely you will need more than one series of treatments….Groupon is a great way to get this done at an unbeatable price…..just do a little research on the companies before you buy….Would I buy another Groupon? I just did today…I am getting 7 laser hair removal treatments from Wellness Center for which I gladly paid 119.00!
Would I buy any service from Palm Beach Medical..not in this life time, actually not even in my next life time!
You can find the Laser and Wellness Center on Facebook
