When you have a new baby in the house you want to make sure the baby is safe at all times, especially when you are not in the room, so of course you want a baby monitor to check on him without disturbing him; you need a good quality monitor with good sound that alerts you if your baby is crying when you are in a different room of the house.
Figuring out the right monitor for you can be a bit more challenging than what you might think. For example, are a stay at home mom? Then you probably don’t need an internet based Wi-Fi monitor. Are you a working mom and would like to check on your little bundle even when you are not home? Then a Wi-Fi monitor that you can connect to with your smart phone or tablet might be the best option for you, but why choose when you can have both in one single monitor!

The Camera Features
The Motorola MBP854CONNECT Dual Mode Baby Monitor, features Remote HD (720p) video streaming on devices capable of 720p display, sound, motion, and temperature notifications, in-app video recording and image snapshot, remote pan, tilt and zoom along with two way communication that will allow you to not only hear your little one but actually talk to him and any other person that is in the room. I must add that I love this feature!
The Dual Mode Baby Monitor by Motorola, has a diagonal 4.3”color screen that shows a very sharp image so you miss no details of what is going on in your baby’s room.
The parent unit comes with a long charging cord which makes it easy to charge the unit which has a built–in rechargeable battery pack (Lithium-ion battery 1880mAh),which needs to be charged for 16 hours before using it, so keep this in mind when you are setting up your monitor.
Easy Set Up
Setting up your monitor and pairing it up is really easy, so you do not need to be computer savvy, just follow the detailed instructions included with your unit.
Remote Pan and Tilt
To make this dual mode baby monitor even handier, you can use the parent unit to remotely control the camera with pan and tilt as needed.
Night Vision Mode
The Motorola Dual Mode Baby Monitor, has 8 high –intensity infrared LED’s to get clear images of your baby even if it is dark. The camera actually has a built–in photo sensor on the top of the unit that allows it to detect a low level of ambient light in which case, the LED’s will activate automatically and the parent unit screen will display in black and white while showing a little moon and star icon at the top of the screen.
The Talk Mode
One of my favorite features on this unit is also very easy to use…All you need to do is press and hold the talk button on the parent unit to talk to your little one or anyone else in that room ( no more yelling across to communicate if you are in the baby’s room and hubby is in the bedroom).
Video On/Off
This unit also gives you the choice of turning off the video while leaving the audio on.
Temperature Display
Ever wonder if the baby’s room is set to the perfect temperature for your little one? Wonder no more; This baby monitor has a temperature reading sensor at the back of the baby unit and the temperature will be displayed at the top of the LCD screen…The readings will turn red if the temperature goes above 84 degrees Fahrenheit or goes below 57 degrees Fahrenheit ( temperature is also displayed in Celsius).
