You will probably agree with me when I state that with today’s thirst for technology, most everybody is interested in ways to keep their data and information at hand which depending of your field of work can be very challenging. This generation has also proven to be very visual and we are always snapping photos or taking videos of everyday life events…We are also very mobile and constantly moving for work, pleasure or many other reasons and again we want to have information, data and photos at the tip of our hands whenever needed.
A couple of months ago I came across Kingston Technology’s website and had the chance to try and love a few of their products. So, of course I wanted to include them in my 2013 Born 2 Impress Products Must Have features as I am really happy with the products from their site. Today I will bring you a neat selection of products for the delight of technology lovers!
For this review I bring you a few different items starting with the SSDNow V300 Drive that is available in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB. I was sent the 240GB for this review….I work a lot on my computer so it is very important for me that my laptop can keep up with me, so I need my computer to be very fast…I was already complaining about my computer not being fast enough, so the SSDNow V300 Drive arrived just in time!
Typically, the hard drive in your computer will be a large size than your new SSD drive (drive being a bit redundant because SSD actually stands for Solid State Drive). In order to upgrade your computer to the much, much faster SSD drive, the best way is to have your local computer professional accomplish it for you. But since my husband calls himself this, this is how he it.
The first step is to change the size of the partitions of your current hard drive to be smaller than your new SSD drive. Once you do this, you can then successfully make a backup of the hard drive with all of its partitions using your favorite whole disk backup program. We backed up the current drive to a portable USB drive.
After that, the new SSD drive was installed and then again booted up the computer with the live CD disk with the backup software. The backup image on the USB drive was then restored to the SSD drive. Then by removing the CD, the USB drive, and rebooting with the SSD drive in place – the computer was back up and running. All access to the HD including boot time is at least 5 times faster than before. One day all hard drives will be this way, and the result is a laptop that is much faster, quieter, runs cooler, and uses less power (meaning longer battery life). Anyone that can afford to have a SSD drive should certainly get one! The SSDNow V300 Drive comes with a 3 year warranty. I could not be happier with my computer and the results I get from my SSDNow V300 Drive!
I also received the DataTraveler SE9, stylish USB Flash drive with metal casing that features a large ring so it will attach easily to a key change and while the looks are a big plus on this USB Flash drive what makes this unit one of a kind, is its size.
The small form factor makes it a great accessory for notebooks like Intel’s new Ultrabook™ as well as tablets that offer USB ports….Truth is that you can’t really appreciate how very little it is. The flash drive is made of one single metal piece for durability. The DataTraveler SE9 is a big favorite in my house hold for its convenient size and portability! The DataTraveler SE9 is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB!
The last product in this review is the SDHC Card – Class 10. As a parent I am always taking photos and videos of my little one, so I learned pretty quickly how important it is to have a high quality SD card that is faster that regular cards so it is easier for you to get your shot quicker and that is for sure one feature that I love in this SDHC Card.
With speeds up to 15MB/s write, the SDHC Ultimate Class 10 is ideal for anyone who uses their digital equipment for serious photography or video and makes it easy to capture HD video. It’s available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities to capture HD video and RAW images…Certainly a great addition to your photography equipment!
Kingston Technology has kindly offered 2 lucky Born 2 Impress reader, the chance to win a free 120GB SSDNow V300, 32BG DataTraveler SE9 and a 32GB SDHC Card – Class 10 (286.00 value each)!

I also REALLY want the premium brand media cards , but you kind of covered them. You are right…I got some low quality ones as xmas gifts from the kids…a walgreens special. They do not work at all and ruined two separate days of photos of my daughters sports event. I was so sad but could not even let the kids know.
