A few weeks ago I had the chance to do a review on the Honeywell HY-108 fan. This Honeywell QuietSet Whole Room Tower (Black) features 5 levels of quiet control including “whisper” and “white noise”….I was interested in trying a fan because I wanted to have the fan running during the day and turn the AC temperature up as I believe this is a great way to save energy and of course money at the same time.

The humidifier is really easy to set up; all you need to do is fill up the water reservoir with water and position the paper filter in the proper place….Everything is explained in easy to follow instructions.

There are two dial buttons that control the humidifier, one to turn on the projector which runs independently from the humidifier function….. My little girl has a hard time sleeping by herself and she loves turning the projector that keeps her room illuminated and the starry scenery makes it a lot more fun!

 The humidifier features two different speed settings, so you can set it to suit your child’s needs. … Just simply use the knob on the bottom of the humidifier to select the desired speed…the sleep mode runs really quiet and you can’t hardly hear it, so this is my favorite setting….The humidifier releases a cool mist that will help you keep a nice cool atmosphere on your little one’s room.

The mist of the humidifier is actually invisible, so you can’t see it, also the humidifier offers the option to use vapors scented pads that go in the unit’s heater and offers a comforting, non-medicated scent….actually the very first time we used the humidifier, my daughter was sick with a cold and the soothing scent seemed to help her get a better night’s sleep.

 The pads only last for about one night and you can buy the replacements in selected retailers across the country. I have to say I was really surprised on how dirty the filter was after just a couple of nights which makes me think it does really works as obviously it was able to trap a lot of dirt in a really short period of time.

The water tank has to be refilled probably after each use depending on how long you let it run and you do not want to put in too much water to prevent the unit from leaking. The Vick’s Starry Night Cool Moisture humidifier has a retail price of 54.99.
