The new Cabana Bay Universal Orlando is a retro-themed Beach Resort that opened just a few weeks ago and is exactly where we stayed when we visited Universal at the beginning of the summer.
The retro look starts at the entrance where you will find a huge sign with the Cabana Bay Hotel name and all around the lobby they have placed antique cars to add to the sixty’s flare of hotel theme.
The experience at the hotel was a great one from beginning to end. The checkout was every bit as quick and efficient and the front office staff was very friendly and attentive. We checked in and left for our fun at the park. We left all the luggage in our car and took the complimentary hotel bus to the park.
Once the hotel room was ready, they sent us a text message letting us know the room was ready
Once we made it back to the hotel we headed to the room and I was nicely surprised with our room which was a poolside family suite. It was big enough for all of us ( a total of six) as the room has 2 queen-sized beds and a full-size sofa bed which I ended up sharing with the 2 kids at our party and where we were able to sleep comfortably.
The suite has all you need for a comfortable stay
The family suite had a closet, a shower, separate toilet room (which I really liked, because by having the shower and the toilet in separate rooms you gain time if someone needs to use the toilet and someone else has to use the shower, and yet a 3rd person can be brushing their teeth in the sink which is between the 2 rooms.
The room has Iron, ironing board, hairdryer, and in-room safe.
Complimentary wireless Internet access in each guest room and the most common areas of the hotel.
The room is decorated with bright colors and more retro details to keep with the theme.
They have placed a folding door so you can create two different bedrooms which is great when you have this many people in one room and since we had two kids, it made it a good way to have them in their own room so they did not get distracted when it was bedtime.
The suite is equipped with 2 40″ flat-panel televisions with HD channels
The suite also had a kitchenette (small fridge, coffee maker, microwave and a small sink), so you can make your own meals if you decided to do so…We did not have time for cooking, but the fridge was very handy.
The view from our room was really pretty
We could look directly to the beach and pool where they had several different things going on…I was really sorry we did not have more time to just lay back and enjoy the hotel.
There are lots of seating areas around the pool so there are a lot of places to just chill and relax, but don’t get me wrong, they were also showing a movie at night and there was plenty of night time life around the property.
The Cabana Bay Beach Resort has lots of amenities in the hotel including two pools, a lazy river, a bowling alley, and a coffee shop. They also have an on-property grab and go food court along with a fully equipped gym.
The Cabana Bay Beach Resort check-in time is 3:00, BUT all guests have early access to the Universal Studio so you can check-in and have an early start at the parks and take advantage of Early Park Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, one hour before the theme park opens (valid theme park admission required).
The Cabana Bay Beach Resort also offers complimentary transportation to other parks. In order to take advantage of this, you will take the hotel shuttle bus and they will drop you off at a bus stop at Universal where you will then be able to take a bus to the other park you want to go (such as SeaWorld). Just make sure you go to the Cabana Bay Beach Resort guest service desk for a pass for the bus you need to take to the other park (not necessary if you are going to the Universal Studios theme parks).
The Cabana Bay Beach Resort Hotel offers very competitive rates. Actually, they have great rates for the service and hotel amenities you are able to enjoy, not mentioning that you can fit up to six people in a family suite.

Looks like a nice place to stay as well as has the amenities that one would want while away from home. I would love to go to Orlando someday again.
Really nice hotel and very close to Universal!
We had a great time and coming back to a nice hotel made the experience even better:)
Thanks for the review….it looks like a fun place to stay.
It is a fun place to stay!
We went to Universal Studios last fall before the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened. Hope to get back there again.
Nice looking hotel
Thank you for sharing your experience! I have visited Orlando in the past, but never had the opportunity to stay in a hotel as nice as this. It really looks like they do their very best to be sure their customers are comfortable. I would certainly stay there if I find myself in that area again!!
