The last several weeks have set new precedents and might have changed our way of life forever. Till this day I get a slap of reality when I have to go somewhere and see people walking around with their masks…When I am in the car driving it is like everything is back to normal and then I get to where I am heading and reach for my mask..yes, definitely seems like a scene out of a Sci-Fi movie.
Dealing with the stress of social distancing
One of the biggest challenges faced by many of us is the social distancing and the stay at home orders we have and of course, how different people deal with these types of situations differently.
Adjusting to the new circumstances has not been easy and explaining the new “ rules” to kids has been challenging to say the least.
As parents, the husband and I have tried to make this adjustment process as easy and stress-free as possible which seems to be easier with our youngest who just turned 5.
We live in a gated community that has allowed us to safely walk around the neighborhood and even play outside even when we were in lockdown…WE are very lucky to have that luxury unlike some people living in apartments in some cities and I can only imagine what that was like.
Making the best out of the situation
We have tried to give the kids the best sense of normalcy as possible and played board games and many traditional games that are amazing to play. So we are inside together as much as possible with my now 13 years old daughter, and my son of course…We even got them to play together!
WE also go on walks around the neighborhood ( always keeping the distance with any other person we came across with), and have done LOTS of crafts.
One thing she enjoyed very much while being outside was her RazorX DLX Electric Skateboard
She developed a love for skateboards last summer and this was the next step up and I mean the next step up!
I never learned how to ride a skateboard and at the tender age of 45, and very poor balance, I don’t see it in my future, but my daughter absolutely loves it and honestly I can see why.
Not your traditional skateboard
This is not your traditional skateboard, featuring a soft-start kick activated technology, the motor ramps up slowly, reaching top speeds of 12 mph (19 km/hr), and slows to a stop with the pull of your thumb ( it comes with a handheld remote control).
One of the things I like the most about this board besides the slick design is that even when you’ve run out of battery juice,
this board shifts into manual and performs like a normal skateboard without interrupting your ride which is great cause lets face it…She forgets to charge it from time to time.
With carve and turn action, The RazorX DLX is a high-performance, high-quality longboard skateboard, powered by an electric rear-wheel motor and controlled by a hand-held remote this is a lot of fun not only for my 13 years old but her much older dad who loves cruising around and decompress while enjoying the ride.
