Are you struggling with your confidence? As a mom, it can be hard to feel good about yourself when you are so busy taking care of the needs of others. There is always someone who needs you, there is always something that needs to be done, and sadly you end up at the bottom of the list. Well, that’s not fair to you and we don’t want you to struggle with your confidence any longer purely because you have no time for yourself.

If this has resonated with you, then you’re in the right place to get some help and advice. Every mom deserves to feel good in her own skin, and down below we’re going to be showing you some of the ways that you can do this.

Take A Break

Sometimes it can be as simple as taking a break. We know that it doesn’t seem like it’s possible because there are constantly piles of things for you to do, but you need a break. Everyone else gets one, but being a mom is a 24/7 job that takes it out of you in ways that nobody else can see. However, just because sometimes your struggle is invisible, doesn’t mean that it isn’t there.

It’s hard to get a break at times because you have to rely on other people, which may make you feel bad. But, they always say that it takes a village to raise children, and they are right. Ask your friends or family members if they can help you out, even if it’s just for a few hours so that you can feel like yourself again. Have a nice, long hot bath. Get some sleep and make yourself feel better. Once you get to do these simple things in peace, you should find that your confidence slowly starts to creep back up.

Hit The Salon

If you have been neglecting yourself by not completing your skincare, not taking care of your hair, not putting on makeup if you used to do this all of the time, and generally feeling rundown, then it’s time to hit the salon.

Make an appointment for all of the things that you want done, and get yourself down there. No if’s, but’s, or maybe’s, you deserve it. It might even be time to go through a complete mommy makeover, showing you that you are still that same person you were before having kids took over your life. You deserve to feel beautiful once again, and sometimes a simple trip to the salon to get your hair done, and be pampered for a few hours is exactly what you need to get to feel this way.

Fix The Imperfections

Another thing to consider if you have exhausted all other options is surgery. This must always be a last resort and never the first, as there are plenty of risks associated with this sort of thing. However, if your confidence issues are being caused by the way you see your body then speak to a surgeon about how they can ‘fix’ these. It might be that you have been left with a small tummy pooch or saggy breasts after breastfeeding. You might benefit from a mommy makeover which will make you look and feel a million dollars once again. Remember, you will need time to heal from this and it won’t happen overnight. Don’t be disheartened if you are met with swelling for a few weeks, it will all be okay.

Meet Friends

Finally, think about meeting up with some of your friends for a drink, chat, and something to eat. It can be nice to get out of the house every so often, especially if you don’t get out much due to being a mom. If you have a wonderful support system in place then you may even be able to meet them without the kids being around. However, if your friends also have children then how about setting up playdates every so often. This could be at each other’s houses or in a public place like a park or soft play center. Meeting your friends can take the pressure off of always being on your own at home. Make sure if they message, you reply. You don’t want them to abandon you, although true friends should recognize when you are struggling.

We hope you found some reassurance in this article and it gave you some ideas on how you can find that lost confidence. Remember, you don’t have to live like this, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Being a new mom can be incredibly tricky and it all takes time to settle down.
