We have been working on a few different DIY projects around the house and making small upgrades in different rooms…One of the projects that I was really looking forward to work on, was the replacement of the ceiling fan in my daughter’s bedroom.

We installed the fan when we first moved into the condo, but since then we have moved her from a low raise bed to a bunk bed and the fan has become a safety issue as she likes to turn the fan on during the night and I am afraid, she will get hurt with it.

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try an item from Del Mar.  Del Mar which means of the Sea offers thousands of products that includes ceiling fans and lighting.  With so much to choose from, it took me a while to get down to one favorite and we decided to go with the George Kovacs P591-084, Step Glass Semi Flush Ceiling Light, 3LT, 120 Watts, Brushed Nickel.

George Kovacs Flush Ceiling Light

The George Kovacs P591-084, Step Glass Semi Flush Ceiling Light, 3LT, 180 Watts, Brushed Nickel features a 3 Light Semi-Flush w/White Frosted Glass Lighting Fixture that is very elegant and modern.  This ceiling light has a designer look and would easily complement many different décor styles.

The George Kovacs ceiling light is about 17.25″w x 10.25″h which was perfect for my daughter’s room, not too big, not too small, but just right.

Plenty of light

The ceiling light utilizes 3- 60 watts light bulbs (not included with the light), for a total of 180 watts which gives a great amount of light.   However, we actually used LED lighting giving off the same amount of light, but at about 24 total watts used.

Setting up the ceiling light is fairly easy, and my husband was able to take the old fan down and install the new light in less than an hour pretty much by himself.  I highly recommend you do read the instructions before starting with the installation as there are a couple of tricky steps …..

All the hardware you will need to have this light installed in included, you will need screw driver and possibly a pair of pliers in order to get the job done, and while it is possible to have the ceiling light installed by one single person, you might be better off by having an extra set of hands to help.

Love the clean simple lines on this ceiling light and how it ties everything together!
