I am often on the go and wherever I go I tend to bring my laptop computer and a few other devices to keep me connected and able to share and update from wherever I am. So, a good computer bag is a must have for me. I have tried many different types of bags and most recently tried a bag from STM bags that quickly made it to my list of favorites.
STM bags was founded in 1998 just outside of Sydney, Australia in the well-known suburb of Bondi Beach. Their mission was, and still is to offer comfortable, secure and stylish bags to carry your digital gear. Today, STM bag offers a variety of laptop bags, packs, fitted tablet and phone cases. All designed to make their users life a bit easier while keeping their gear protected.
For this review I was given the opportunity to try the Convoy Medium Laptop Backpack. The Convoy Laptop Medium Bag features a military look that is very appealing. The Convoy is made of 14oz water resistant canvas with 210D water resistant nylon lining, weights about : 3.70 lbs / 1.70 kg, and fits most computers up to 15”.
The Convoy Medium Laptop Backpack is heavily padded to ensure the complete protection of your laptop and other devices. There are two main compartments in the inside of the bag. The larger one is big enough to keep your computer, while the second one is also very spacious and big enough for a tablet and a couple of other devices, or books, paperwork and reading materials depending on your needs.
In addition, there is a large zippered front pocket with organizational panel for cords, drives, pens, etc that is very convenient and allows you to keep all you need reachable and organized at all times. Also in the front of the backpack you will find three utility pockets. A large one and two smaller ones, all of them with snap closure to keep your belongings safe.
There is also an adjustable suspension system for a comfortable fit over with sternum strap to adjust to the preferred fit, tuck-away waist straps, and for added convenience the backpack has an integrated phone pocket on the shoulder strap for easy access ( the pocket is somehow small, so if you have a big smart phone like the Samsung Galaxy S4, your phone will not fit). It does however work really well for an iPod.
One of my favorite features, is probably the tuck-away rain cover for any unexpected rain that can be a life saver for climates like Florida’s when unexpected rain can happen at any time ( the rain cover is located in a hidden pocket at the bottom of the backpack).
The backpack also has two side pockets for other small items, water bottle or any other thing that you might want to keep reachable. I Really like the design and the different features on the backpack which is available in either olive or black and has a retail price of about $103.00 dollars and is available at selected retailers.
