I received a Honeywell AirGenius 5 Air Cleaner/Odor Reducer to facilitate this review. I was not financially compensated for this post. My opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part.
My husband has big allergy problems and it seems that mine have actually gotten worse over the years so air filtration is really important in our home. Since it looks like the air conditioner filter is not enough, especially now that spring has sprung and is the time of year for seasonal allergies we need something to assist more than ever. As the trees start to bloom, and the pollen is released into the atmosphere, allergy sufferers begin their annual ritual of sniffling and sneezing and a stuffy, bloody nose is just a matter of time for me, so the obvious answer to our problem was an air purifier to help us at least when we are at home.
We have the Honeywell HFD300 AirGenius 3 Air Cleaner/Odor Reducer, and have actually owned that unit for a couple of years now, and it works like a charm…That air purifier is in my daughter’s room, but we needed one for our room as well, especially because the baby sleeps in our room and he has the tendency to get stuffy and I am afraid that is going to be an allergy sufferer like mommy and daddy.
Honeywell AirGenius 5 Air Cleaner/Odor Reducer
As I mentioned I love the AirGenius 3, so when Honeywell gave me the opportunity to try one of their air purifiers, I opted for the newest version of the AirGenius series.
The Honeywell AirGenius 5 Air Cleaner/Odor Reducer is recommended for large rooms (250 sq. ft.) , and features 2 pre-filter options: a washable, foam pre-filter to capture larger particles, or the replaceable “K” pre-filter with the added benefit of odor/gas/VOC reduction, so you have all the filtration power needed.
The Honeywell AirGenius 5 Air Cleaner/Odor Reducer like the AirGenius 3, is very user friendly and has all of the options on top of the unit on its touch screen controls (keep in mind that you need to touch the actual circled options, touching the numbers will not change the settings). You can find a quick use guide attached to the back of the unit for a quick reference on how to use your unit, but it is really easy to use.
The unit featured 5 different air cleaning levels: Sleep, Germ, General Clean, Allergen and Max. The unit runs very quietly ( a must if you have a baby in the room), and the tower design air purifier is slim with a sleek modern design that takes very little space and it has an oscillating option …the unit blows out air, so it kind of acts like a fan at the same time and can really help cool down a room. The unit is really powerful and this in combination with your AC unit this summer can make your room nice and cold, so you do not need to have your AC set as low as normal when the air purifier is running.
You can smell that clean air smell the minute you get your unit running, even on a low setting!
This unit has some really nice features like the optional Automatic shut-off timer – 2, 4,or 8 hours, or the optional soft accent lighting with dimmer which is great if you need to change the settings in the middle of the night and do not want to disturb the rest of the people in the room, and there is also the electronic filter check reminder. The foam filter is washable, but the optional Odor &VOC Reducing Pre-filter ( HRF-K2) is recommended to be changed every 3 months.
The AirGenius 5 is only available in black, it is ENERGY STAR by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. and has a 5 year limited warranty and it is definitely a great addition to your household.

We use several space heaters during the Winter, so I’d like to try their Honeywell HZ-7300 Deluxe EnergySmart® Cool Touch Heater. Those things really save on electric bills! As for dry Winter skin, I’m diabetic & that adds to dry skin issues. I do a LOT of exfoliating Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall! Exfoliating regularly really helps get rid of dry skin.
I would really love to have the Honeywell Removable Top Fill Console Humidifier. My daughter has eczema which gets really bad in the winter. We run a small humidifier in her room for her but this would be great for the downstairs to help her.
I like this one as well: The Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Remover
We have a dog that sheds like crazy as well as my GF has every allergy under the sun so that would definitely help her out.
I would like to try the Honeywell QuietSet® Slim Mini Tower Fan. The “living” side of the house has a vaulted ceiling and it gets warmer on that side. This tower fan would be great to put up on the kitchen bar to keep me cool in the summer.
I like the Honeywell Removable Top Fill Console Humidifier. For the winter months I try to use a lot of lotion. I also take luke warm showers so it doesn’t dry my skin out.
I would also love to have one of their air purifiers. We have a humidifer going year round. My hubby is a laryngectomee and has to have a good humidity level in the house. He also suffers from allergies so an air cleaner and purifier would be a huge help to his health
I would also love to have the Honeywell MyEnergySmart® Infrared Heater. The heat in my apartment works by forced air blower that runs on my electric bill. Having one of these would save me tons during the winters.
Being that we live in Florida where the summer months can get so hot and humid, I would love to have the Honeywell Turbo Force Fan that can be felt from 40 feet away! Now that sounds like a winner of a fan 😀 https://www.honeywellpluggedin.com/fans/shop/honeywell-turbo-force-floor-fan Also in the past winter months, I am washing my hands on the hour or more since my grandbaby Ava was born Jan. 20th. I hope it is ok to mention a brand but Dove Men’s care moisturizing soap is THE most fantastic soap that I have ever used and I am 50..lol No, they didn’t pay me to say that..lol My son had extra and gave me some and it smelled great, a clean, not a man smell so I tried it and I put a bar at the kitchen sink to use and let me tell ya, after using that daily, my hands got so soft and moisturized. I rarely get that impressed on a product. But anyhow, using that and then a good lotion and that is how I prevent dryness in the winter months. Thanks for the giveaway, love the Honeywell brand, we have bought their products for years.
I would love to try The Honeywell True HEPA Allergen Remover for a larger sized living room/dining room area, pretty open and love the sleek design. Oh I am tired of winter ready for spring. We use lots of hand lotions all winter to keep our hands from being so dry.
The hardest stains I have ever had to tackle are during the summer and gardening season. We all end up covered in mud and those stains are almost impossible to remove. My son also ends up with lots of grass stains.
I would absolutely love to try the Honeywell QuietCare Cool Moisture Humidifier. It’s quiet and the parts are even dishwasher safe. I put on a lot of lotion all year long, because my skin is very dry and it cracks and hurts. I find that it is best to put on lotion when your skin is very damp because it holds the moisture in.
