I received a Kolibree interactive tooth brush to facilitate this review. I was not financially compensated for this post. My opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part.
We have been struggling with my daughter and tooth health…the kid does not enjoy brushing her teeth and we have spent a good chunk of money on her teeth already, so I wanted to make sure she takes better care of her teeth and want to help her to create a good dental hygiene routine early in life!
A couple of weeks ago I was pitched a very interesting product and concept. The Kolibree Smart Tooth Brush.
Kolibree Smart Tooth Brush
We all have electric tooth brushes, but that is making no difference for my daughter. Actually, sometimes I have found her using a regular tooth brush instead of the electric one but Kolibree is more than an electric tooth brush.
Why is Kolibree different?
Kolibree has a series of sensors that allows the user to know orientation. Things such as where you are brushing, how you are brushing, how long you are brushing your teeth and if you are doing it correctly….How? It is a smart tooth brush and you will need to download the free Kolibree app on your Android or iPhone to see all the details of your brushing procedure. As far as I know, Koloibree is the only electric tooth brush with this capability right now.
The tooth brush connects to your smart phone or tablet via Blue Tooth and its vibration technology can reach up to 15,000 vpm (vibrations per minute).
The tooth brush
The Kolibree interactive tooth brush has a very elegant and attractive design with slim lines that would actually look good on your bathroom vanity and takes very little if any space.
The app
The companion app for the Kolibree interactive tooth brush allows users to create a profile (multiple profiles can be created). The app will allow you to track motion, to automatically upload data, monitor duration and regularity along with progress.
What I like the most?
The app has games for kids that will help the kids to learn about good dental habits. Kids can play while brushing which increases brushing time which is one of my main problems with my daughter besides that by making brushing fun, I do not have to drag my daughter to the bathroom to brush her teeth.
The Kolibree interactive toothbrush comes with two heads, so you can share the toothbrush with a second family member (great when you have more than one kid).
Kolibree has different buying options and the single brush with the two brush heads is on sale right now ($50.00 off) for $149.99, and the sale ends December 23rd.
One of my concerns was with replacement brushes as I was afraid they would be too expensive, but at $19.99 for a pack of three, I have to say not bad at all!
An app for brushing your teeth! What will they think of next!
Right?
My daughter is young right now and loves brushing her teeth, but I remember how hard it was to get my brother to brush his teeth when he was in grade school. This actually looks like fun and would really be encouraging to kids that just don’t want to. I know it seems silly to have an app for this, but if a kid is struggling it’s worth it as they need to brush their teeth a couple of times a day.
Hi Katy.
It is fun and I am there with you…Having a hard time with my daughter, so I hoe this is the solution to my problem!
Anything that can help kids brush well is a good thing. Make it fun and they’ll do it better.
The interactive toothbrush sounds like fun! My 3 year year old does not like brushing his teeth, but with this toothbrush and app, he might actually enjoy it. I also love that the app teaches about good dental habits.
That’s awesome that there is a game with it that instructs and encourages kids to brush. I had no idea something like this existed. My daughter is the queen of –done brushing in 2 seconds.
