We recently visited Orlando for a short two day escapade and once we decided we were going, I immediately started looking for fun family things to do in the couple of days we were going to be there…One of our close family friends had mentioned LLEGOLAND and how much his kids enjoyed the park… Up until the day he mentioned it, I had no idea the park existed so I was really intrigued as to what kind of adventures the park offers.
LEGOLAND® Florida, Central Florida’s newest theme park, is a 150-acre; full two-day interactive family theme park specifically designed for families with children ages 2 to 12. The largest LEGOLAND Park in the world, it features more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions, restaurants, shopping, a breathtaking botanical garden and the all-new LEGOLAND Water Park.
Just 45 minutes from Orlando and downtown Tampa, LEGOLAND Florida rests along the shores of Lake Eloise in the city of Winter Haven. Here guests can enjoy 10 easy-to-navigate and highly-themed zones that include pink-knuckle roller coasters, Miniland USA, the Imagination Zone and LEGO City where youngsters can learn how to drive by freely navigating their own boats and LEGO cars.
LEGOLAND sent me two tickets to visit the park and explore the different attractions, you can buy the tickets online or directly at the park itself Adult (13+) from $66, Child (3-12) and seniors (60+)from $59. The tickets for the water park are sold separately, Adult (13+) from $81, Child (3-12) and seniors (60+)from $74…I highly recommend you include the water park on your itinerary specially if you are planning to visit the park while the weather is hot .
We rented a hotel room in Orlando and I must say that the ride was not bad at all. We arrived to the park around 10:00 ( The park opens at 9:30 and 10:00 on specific days, so I recommend you take a look at their schedule to know the exact time the park will be open the day of your visit.
As I said we arrived to the park around 10:00AM, and getting in the park was easy enough. The staff was able to move the lines of people getting in the park quite easily. Right after we got in we found their carousel and of course my little bug had to go on it (several times because it was a double decker).
There are many attractions that kids and parents alike will love to go on. I didn’t go on many of the rides, but my husband got on as many rides with my daughter as they could, I must say that the rides are not the only attraction as they have really cool statues all over the place that are certainly amazing … because they are made completely out of LEGOS!!! ….I could not believe the intricate designs that you will find all over the park.
After a few hours of walking around the park and finding the different attractions we were ready for a little break and the water park was perfect to do just that ! The LEGOLAND Water Park at LEGOLAND Florida features a wave pool, Build-A-Raft lazy river, tube slides, body slides and an interactive water-play structure – DUPLO® Safari….the water park break was exactly what we needed…my mother and I laid on the chaise lounge while the ladybug and DH played in the wave pool. The Build-a-Raft River which features a 1000-foot-long lazy river, set amongst playful LEGO Friends is lots of fun and for those looking for a bit more action , the Splash Out is the place to go… the tallest point of the water park attraction where you can choose from one of three unique slides, then speed down a 60-foot drop and “splash out” into the water below that was so much fun that once the DH and the daughter found it, it was really hard to keep them away from it.
There are lots of beautiful gardens with impressive Lego statues. The historic gardens were established on the grounds of its Cypress Gardens predecessor more than 75 years ago. And my very favorite part was with no doubt the Miniland USA .The heart of every LEGOLAND Park, Miniland USA is home to seven especially themed areas that are replicas of cities around the USA that is just AMAZING! LEGOLAND is working on a really fun promotion this Halloween!
