Luma Comfort offered me the opportunity to do a review of one of their products. They have several interesting products that I was interested in and I decided that one of the portable ice makers would be an interesting product to try. I was sent a free sample of the Luma Comfort IM200SS Stainless Steel Portable Clear Ice Maker in order to do the review. I was not compensated to do this review, my opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part.
Now that summer is approaching and temperatures are finally warming up, the Luma Comfort IM200SS Portable Clear Ice Maker is a great addition to your home kitchen or bar. The compact unit is stylish and compact which is a must for us in our condo.
The unit is fairly light weight as I was able to lift it with no extra help. It is very easy to install, all you need to do is free the unit of all packaging, wipe clean the inside of the ice maker, plug it in for about an hour to let the unit set and then turn it on.
Since there is no plumbing involved with this unit, you will need to manually add the water to the reservoir. The unit has 3 different lights right on the top of the cover ( on/off light, ice full and the need water sign).
The unit is fairly quiet. It blends in with the refrigerator noise (I have it sitting beside the fridge), so that is pretty much all you hear, the same noise you would hear from a fridge with the occasional sound of ice falling when the ice is made. The Luma Comfort IM200SS Stainless Steel Portable Clear Ice Maker delivers small sets of clear ice.
In the inside of the unit, you will find a set of flaps…whenever the flaps are down the unit is at rest, if you take ice out and the flaps are lifted, the unit will start with the ice making process once again.
The Luma Comfort IM200SS Stainless Steel Portable Clear Ice Maker features a sleek stainless steel finish that looks great in any modern kitchen. The unit produces up to 28 lbs. daily….according to Luma comfort the Clear ice melts 5x slower than cloudy ice, so I put it to the test and filled two glasses with ice from my freezer and ice from the ice maker.
I let both glasses stand for twenty minutes and the ice on both look good…I added water and let them sit for ten minutes and the ice was still there, so I don’t know how accurate the statement that it melts 5x slower is , but I can tell you it does last quite a while!
The Luma Comfort IM200SS Stainless Steel Portable Clear Ice Maker comes with a small scooper to serve the ice and works nicely while blending neatly with my kitchen décor. We are planning to entertain quite often during the summer and the extra ice is certainly very appreciated not only during the times when we have friends over, but also on weekends when DH usually takes a cooler to the soccer fields and leaves the house without any ice! And of course this is a nice thing to have when spending time by the pool or beach and you need some extra ice to bring along…So we definitely like having the extra ice source at home.
One thing to keep in mind is that Luma Comfort recommends to change the water in the water reservoir every 24 hours which is very easy to do and will guarantee you get your clear, clean ice. To change the water, simply use the drainage port located on the back of the unit ( white rounds screw on piece), unscrew this piece and you will find a small tube with a small plug. Pull the plug and let the water drain( make sure to place both the screw and plug in a safe place , you do not want to lose those)!

We go through a tremendous amount of ice. Our refrigerator does not have an ice maker, and we keep forgetting to fill ice trays, or the freezer is full, with no rooom for trays. Phooey! I love , the Luma Comfort IM200SS portable clear ice maker. As a family of five, we go through so much ice on a daily basis. But, we do have friends over and I often wish I could put more ice in the drinks! If I know friends are coming over I buy ice by the bag to keep up but when they come over unexpectedly I always wish I had an ice maker!

I sure wish I had the Luma Comfort170W Air purifier! There is an 8-lane superhighway right outside my window, and the exhaust find it’s way in even with the window closed. I always wish I had one of those! As for the Ice Maker, I could that every day, too! We go through 10 trays of ice a day here – in the cold weather. In the summer, it’s double that! Sometimes it seems like I spend my whole day refilling ice trays!!
The ice maker is the product I want the most. My frig makes 8 cubes at a time, not nearly enough for a family of 5! The AP400W Air Purifier would also be nice to have. I could have used it recently when our neighbor(we live in the country) was doing some burning of brush. It went on for days and the wind was blowing in the direction of our house. Each time the door was opened, the smokey smell came in which led to me having a sneezing fit.
I would love to try the HC12W humidifier. I have always wanted and needed a really good humidifier. We burn wood in the winter and we get really dry air in the house. Our humidity drops down really low and I end up having breathing problems and dry skin issues. I wish we had one of these this past winter because my dry skin got really bad, as it was all over my face and it took me a while to get it under control. I was just telling my husband that next year we have to look into getting one of these.

another product I like is the LUMA COMFORT AP400W Air Purifier. I have bad allergies and really have wanted one. I like the size and color. And that it has a UV light to remove over 99% of indoor pollutants such as dust, pollen, animal dander, odors, mold, bacteria and viruses. Very nice!

I fell in love with the idea of a counter top ice maker when they were introduced a couple years ago. I live in the hot desert area of Washington state. It can upwards of 100 degrees for days in a row and an ice maker would make my life more comfortable and my pets too. I like to put ice in their water bowl, but when it gets uber hot I tend to get a little stingy with the ice cubes. ; P

Air purifier is the product that I wish I had, if I had it I would use it daily, not one perticular time but all the time..2 dogs sometimes 3 and 4 dogs in this house at once. The air needs some purification.

I would so love to have the the Luma Comfort MF26B 26″ Commercial Misting Fan ….and yes, even tho I realize it’s a commercial type fan…that makes me want it even more. You see, I cannot sleep without a fan, PERIOD! The louder the better for me, and I figure commercial might mean loud and definitely powerful. I don’t even have to have the air pointed on me unless it’s summer, but I sleep with the fan on high right next to my head, even if pointed the other way…EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, all year long. Really I would most love the ice maker but another cool product Luma makes is the cool and warm mist humidifier. It is like two products in one. I’m sure it would be really helpful when one of us got sick around here.

I could use this ice maker all the time because I lose blood and my body doesn’t make more (I need transfusions) and eating/crunching ice is one of the things I need to do. We have an in freezer ice maker, but it just can’t keep up with me.

Luma has several great product. My favorite is this ice maker but I also found the AP400W Air Purifier. I would love to have this for my bedroom. I have Asthma and it acts up at night in my bedroom and I know this would help stop those night attacks. The Luma Comfort EC220W Evaporative Cooler would be great to cool off the house this summer. The MF26B misting fan would be great for the Texas heat of summer. I’d be the envy of the neighborhood for our fourth of July parties. We can watch the fireworks and keep cool at the same time. And it will be great on the front porch for the rest of the summer as we watch the kids play.
Another great product I would love to try is the AIR PURIFIERS. They would be perfect for this time of year with the allergy seasons on is now, The Luma Comfort would be my choice for contaminant removal of particulates as well as chemicals and VOCs.

I would like to try out the Luma Comfort AP400W Air Purifier. My house collects a lot of dust. I thought buying a new furnace with eliminate the dust accumulation problem. However a couple of thousands dollars later I discovered that a new furnace was not the answer. The Luma AP400W Air Purifier might just be the answer to solving my dust problem because it offers offers high-efficiency air filtration.

I would love to have an Evaporative Cooler right now. My air conditioner seems to be on its last leg, but might last a couple more years but if I had one of the evaporative coolers, it would cool my house so much that I might not have to run my AC so often. There are so many great products from Luma that I would love to have.
I wish I had the LUMA COMFORT EC45S Tower Evaporative Cooler. A time in which I wish I had one of these would be right now. Our air conditioner broke and it gets very hot around this time on the East Coast living on the 3rd floor of a building…also, I think the concept is very cool when compared to a standard air conditioner.
i’d love one of their misting fans. perhaps the mf26b would be best. living here in California, it gets really hot during the summer. it will be over 100 degrees on a regular basis by next month, so one of these would really help out.

I would love to have an air purifier. I would choose the AP400W air purifier. It would be powerful enough to work in my front room and kitchen area. With 3 kids, 2 dos, and a cat, we could really use the help with allergens and odors.
The ice maker or the AP 400W Purifier would be most excellent. Living in the city always calls for clean fresh air. And having a pool…well…that calls for ice!

I like their Air Purifiers. We have 2 cats, and a lot of dust and could really use one of these. It would help me and my husband’s allergies too!
I cant say this would be on all day every day, but this would greatly improve Friday and Saturday nights. Instead of a 3-4$ bag of ice I have to smash on the pavement out front before dolling out randomly/misshapen orbs of cloudiness.

Evaporative Cooler would be a very welcome item. The Summer get too hot even though I am close to the beach! We would need the ice maker for staying cool drinks during the day!
The LUMA COMFORT AP400W Air Purifier, I have several children with allergies and are very sensitive to dust, mold and pollen. I love that it will filter bacteria and viruses and has a UV light destroys and inhibits growth of mildew, mold and bacteria.
The Luma Comfort EC220W Evaporative Cooler! With so much coverage area, this would have been/would be great for my work space in my shop in the hot sticky summer weather. It would make life more comfortable for sure
Both my fiancee and me smoke so I would think a air purifier would be best in this house. We also have a dog and a cat so with a purifier the dander would be cut down tremendously!

We could use the AP400W AIR PURIFIERS. I have mold allergies and a child with hay fever. No matter where we live one of us always seems to be sick.

I would love to try one of the misting fans. It would have been perfect for our garage sale. It was so hot outside, and I was dripping in sweat during the entire day. If I had a misting fan, it would have been more comfortable for both myself and the people shopping. They would be great for so many things.
