I received a Philips Wake Up Light in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Winter blues? Not here! A really large percent of the population have a hard time getting up in the mornings and dragging themselves out of bed. When the temperature starts to drop, that percentage increases, dramatically, because many people suffer from Winter Blues also known as Seasonal Effective Disorder. A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to try an innovative product from Philips.

Founded over a 100 years ago, Philips has evolved from a company that made and sold light bulbs into a global company that brings innovation in many different areas. Although lighting is still the soul of Phillips, they are now offering the Wake-up Light for those suffering from Winter Blues and just in time for the Holidays.

Introducing Philips Wake –up Light

Inspired by nature’s sunrise, Philips used their over 100 years of experience in lighting to develop a light that combines light therapy and sound to help you wake up in a more natural way.
The designs is minimalist and looks like a light bulb, but is anything but simple. The Wake-up Light Features:

-Colored Sunrise Simulation
-5 Natural Sounds
-FM radio & reading lamp
-Tap Snooze

Think of it as the next generation of alarms….so how does I works?

Colored Sunrise Simulation will let you wake-up naturally
The Wake–up light mimics the sunrise, and progressively increases within 30 minutes from soft morning reds to oranges, until your room is filled with bright yellow light. The reason why Philips implemented this process, is because changing and increasing light encourages your body to wake up naturally. Waking up is more welcomed by your body than from being in a sound sleep then awaken by an alarm. To complete the process, by the time the yellow light has filled your room, the natural sound you have chosen, completes the wake-up experience.

The 5 different sounds to choose from:

You can chose from : Song Birds, Birds in the forest, Zen Garden, Gentle piano notes, and Seaside Sounds. Once the sound begins, it progressively increases in volume to your selected level within one and a half minutes, until the entire light and sound process has completed! Do you prefer to wake up to your favorite radio show? No problem!

Philips took all details under consideration!

As your room starts to get darker in the evening, the intensity of the display adjusts itself. The unit dims so your sleep is uninterrupted by the unit’s light. When the room starts to become brighter and it’s time to get up, the display will start getting brighter so you can read the time – genius!

Need a few more minutes? Just tap the snooze option and the sound pauses for 9 minutes!

Customize Your Light:

The Philips Wake-up light, has 20 light intensities so you can get the best light combination for your needs.

Setting up can be a little tricky, so I highly recommend reading through all the instructions before you start setting up your unit.

I have been using the Wake-up light for a few weeks now and I really like it! It seems to help me wake up in a better mood and disposition. I have been really struggling since I had my baby, so this change is very welcomed!
