Are you a peanut butter lover? I know a lot of people just love it and I have to admit it makes a great snack. Actually, peanut butter has a lot of benefits to it, not only does it have a lot of protein, but it is also very filling, so if you eat it properly and in the right amounts, it can be a good diet food.
In addition, peanut butter is a good source of protein and fiber, but for some reason I was not sold on it, so when I was given the opportunity to try Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter, I thought maybe I just have not tried the right kind of peanut butter and was really interested in trying this Australian based brand.
Pic’s Really Good Peanut Butter did the trick ever since I was sent a jar of their crunchy peanut butter and I tried it, I have become a fan of their peanut butter. But what makes this peanut butter different than the other ones I have tried?
I took a jar of a popular competitor brand to compare them…The difference starts with the jar…Pic’s Really good peanut butter is packed in a reusable glass jar, the label looks like what you expect from gourmet products , but packing is just the beginning of the differences.
The Pic’s really good peanut butter is richer and the texture is also different. If you are not yet sold on Pic’s peanut butter let me tell you it has 85 calories per serving which is about 15g, the other brand has 200g in a serving which is 34g, so you are looking at about a 30 calories difference for the same amount of peanut butter.
There are many other significant differences in their nutrition facts label, the ones that caught my attention?
Pic’s peanut butter sodium content is 30mg which is a 1% of the daily value, while “ the other brand” has 115mg which translates to a 5% of the daily value…Sugar content on the Pic’s peanut butter is 0.5g , while the other brand has 7g. So these are just some of the differences, but again the biggest one is the flavor. I love the Pic’s really good peanut butter and the fact that they made sure to reduce the not so good stuff I it, is just the cherry on top!
