Scooters have around for a long time, but the original scooter was a far cry the new designs that you can find nowadays. The first scooter was a combination of roller skate wheels and a small plank of wood, but a lot has changed since then. While the scooter seemed to have fallen out fashion for several years, there is no denying that they are very popular now.

The first word that comes to mind right after “scooter” is, without a doubt, Razor. Razor pretty much reinvented the original wooden scooter and made a more weather resistant version when it introduced the aluminum scooter.

A New Generation of Scooters

Using a lighter, weather-resistant material is not the only thing Razor did for the scooter world. It also created a completely new generation of scooters: new designs, colors, sizes, and more. Today, both little kids and adults can enjoy the popular toy.

More than a Toy

The new generation of scooters is certainly more than a toy. While they are still a lot of fun to use, they can be used as an alternative source of transportation. For example, electric scooters, such as the Razor E Prime electric scooter, can be used to commute.

The E Prime is a gunmetal grey, sleekly designed scooter that can go up to 15 mph (24 km/h) and run for about 30 minutes continuously. This easy-to-use the scooter is a kick-to-start, high-torque, brushless, hub-driven vehicle with a thumb-activated electric engine, variable-speeds, paddle controls.

This aluminum-frame scooter is 16.75″ (425 mm) by 5.5″ (140 mm) with extra-large airless rubber tires, adjustable handlebars, a retractable kickstand, a rechargeable 36V lithium-ion pack, a rechargeable (UL2271) battery, and a five-stage LED battery indicator display and battery charger that allows you to easily see the battery life.

Meant for ages 14 and up with a max rider weight of 176 lb. (80 kg), this scooter is very stable and extremely easy to ride. There is also very little assembly required (five minutes or less).

I have to admit that It was not convinced about an electric scooter until I hopped on the E Prime. It is a blast! As long as you follow the general safety rules, it is also a safe ride. I do, however, make sure that my daughter wears closed-toe shoes and a helmet any time she is riding the scooter because it goes pretty fast.

My husband, daughter, and I have all ridden and fallen in love with this scooter. I especially like the compact fold and the lightweight design, which makes it so easy to bring along and store.

This scooter is well-constructed with patent-pending anti-rattle folding technology, an extra-long and extra-wide extrusion profile aluminum deck, and soft rubber prism-shaped grips for maximum comfort. The E Prime quickly became the favorite toy for the whole family!
