The exact time for the flu (influenza) is very unpredictable, and it can vary depending on what part of the country you are in, but with cooler temperatures. The flu season activity picks up, usually between Octobers and May and peaks up in the United States between December and February (the cold weather is its friend).
My husband, my daughter, the baby and myself have already taken the flu shot this year in preparation to the 2015-2016 Flu season. Even though we have taken the flu shots, both the kids and myself have come down with something and dealing with an 8 year old with a stuffy nose is almost as bad as dealing with a 7 month old with a stuffy nose!
Safety 1st leading brand of baby safety products offers you a wide selection of products to make this flu season as easy on you and your baby as possible and brings you products that will help you, by helping your baby to be more comfortable.

1st Grooming Kit by Safety 1st

This smaller version is what I took with me on my trip to the Dominican Republic as it takes very little space in the diaper bag…One thing I really liked, is the fact that there is plenty of extra space in the pouch, so I was able to add a couple of small things I wanted with me and did not want to get lost in the diaper bag.
The vibrant colors make the pouch very easy to spot so I did not have to empty the whole diaper bag to find it when it was needed.
Ultrasonic 360° Humidifier
This is a nice compact unit that would be great for any baby’s room. This Humidifier helps you to add moisture to the air in your little one’s room and increase the indoor humidity, helping to ease cold symptoms and reduce baby’s dry skin and itchy eyes.
The tank is not too big, so you will probably have to re-fill your unit every day or so which is fine by me as I can appreciate the compact size of the unit which is also very quiet. You do hear a bit of background noise which really does not bother me and acts as little bit of white noise which can actually help to soothe the baby.
There are a few main features that I really like on this humidifier like the fact that the Ultrasonic 360° Humidifier works without a filter. It is very easy to use ( it has a large knob in the front of the unit that allows you to control the amount of humidity delivered by your unit), it features two mist outlets that rotate 360° for full nursery coverage and it is easy to clean!
Available in your choice of pink or blue, the Safety 1st Ultrasonic 360° Humidifier has a retail price of $32.99.

Another great product at Safety 1st is the High Def Digital Audio Monitor. It’s got a 1,000 foot range, so it’s easy to move around the house and still hear what’s going on in baby’s room. When traveling with kids, it’s essential to have a good car seat that fits the child well. And to use it correctly. It’s amazing how mant people don’t know the right way to use the car seat! (Forward/rear facing, for example).
My favorite product from Safety 1st is the Grow and Go Carseat. I live the versatility and it can be used through three stages! This is also my fav product for safety travel but their playards are super handy too!
I love their Grow And Go™ Air 3-In-1 Car Seat! I am always looking for one that seems to be comfortable and safe. I swear by the NASAL ASPIRATOR when little ones have a stuffy nose. I wouldn’t go anywhere without it when my little one has a cold.
The Summit 65 Booster Car Seat is a must have. Meets or exceeds Federal and ASTM Safety Standards. It is also affordable and gives your growing child a comfortable and safer way to travel.
The products from Safety 1st are all great products. The prices are very reasonable also. One of the products that I think is absolutely essential is the Sleepy Baby Nail Clippers. I have a three month old grandson whose nails grow quicker than mine! He is always scratching himself and it is very hard to hold his little hand still enough to cut his nails. The Ultrasonic Humidifier really helps with stuffy nose in the nursery.
I really like the High Def Digital monitor. This is nice and small so easy for travel. I love the range capability of it. My on the go thing for travel is a safety gate. You always end up somewhere that having this just makes life easier.
I like their Safety 1st Play Yard, too. That would be a great baby shower gift. The kids I travel with are my niece & nephew & they are 6, 10 & 12. So, mostly, they need to be entertained when traveling or they get grouchy & start fussing with each other. Tablets or phones work best, but magazines or games or food (lol) work too.
My absolute favorite Safety 1st product is the ELITE EX 100 AIR+ 3-IN-1 CAR SEAT, though I cant afford it lol. When traveling with kids, it is essential to have proper carseats for them.
I like their Top Of Stairs Décor Swing Gate. It looks sturdy and solid. It’s also a good finish that would match our furnuture.
I haven’t traveled with small kids in years until now. My teens bring their own things.
When traveling with the children I need to make sure they are in a safe car seat and buckled in properly. I need to have a good pack and play for them to sleep. Also I always make sure to take meds along with me on the road because sometimes they can get sick. I also have there bottles ready in the car along with snacks for them to eat. Most of all I make sure the iPad is loaded with tons of movie for them to watch.
I love the SAFE STAGES™ PLAY YARD. It could come in handy when we take our granddaughter out with us. The play yards are a must have for kids.
I would love their Secure Click Bed Rail. Our two year old daughter just transitioned to her crib with the toddler rail that came with it. However, I can tell it will be time to move her to a twin bed soon. These rails are super-secure and easily move to make the bed!
When traveling with kids, I find that a pack and play is very useful. We use it as a crib for my little one to sleep in, a place to change diapers, and we can put our little one their to safely play as most places we travel are not baby-proofed. From Safety first, I really like the Top Of Stairs Décor Swing Gate. We’ve been searching for the right gate to protect our little one from the stairs and this one is perfect! I love that it has a nice wood look and that it can be operated with one-hand
I really like the AdapTable High Chair. The Quick Read Forehead Thermometer is also something I’d love to get. For traveling, the best thing to have is a well packed diaper bag! Extra change of clothes, diapers & wipes, sunscreen, everything!
I really like their Adaptable High Chair. Cute colors too! One thing you always need while traveling with kids is wet wipes. SO MANY wet wipes! 🙂
I like the High Def Digital Audio Monitor. It would be very convenient for new mothers. I always travel with snacks when traveling with kids.
We take both of our grandchildren with us pretty often when we travel. I always take a first-aid kit that is specifically made for children. I also take extra OTC medications, a travel humidifier, thermometer and soup….just in case they get sick. I would like to have their white auto-close safety gate…yup, I really need that!
