Due to my husband’s line of work, he is in contact with a lot of lawyers that work in different legal fields and that of course includes personal injury attorneys which I must say came in handy when my father-in-law was hit by a car while crossing a major street in Miami…And yes, my father in-law was on the crosswalk and had the right of way.
There are tons of attorneys and knowing good lawyers is important when you have something like this happen. At first my father in law did not want to do anything about the accident, but he was recommended to follow through with his lawyers, just because of medical bills that as we know can be very expensive. In the end, he was able to get all of his medical bills paid in addition to some money for his pain and suffering. After the fact, despite his initial resistance, he now say’s how very happy he was to get the legal help.
So what I learned from this experience is that knowledge is extremely important and that people should research and get information on the attorneys they are planning to hire as it can make a huge difference on how easy and hassle free a situation like this can be!
