You might remember my post about starting a blog from last month.  I mentioned a few points that drove me to start my blog and some of the issues and learning curves I had to deal with. I can honestly say that I wish I had all the information and knowledge I have now when I started.

But isn’t that the way it always is when you look back on old projects and even your life? The great thing is that anyone starting or thinking about starting a new blog now can get all the information and resources they need to make the path so much easier and smoother than it was for me.

Blogging Course

I have started a new blogging course on how to monetize my blog taught by Elaine Rau. Yes, even after all this time blogging, I am smart enough to understand that there are new ways to do things, and you either jump on the bandwagon or get left behind.

It is amazing to me all the things I thought I knew. I had no idea there were easier and more productive ways to do many of my blogging tasks.

Thank Goodness for New Tools

There is a lot involved in running a blog, especially if you are serious about it and are thinking about using your blog to provide information and as a source of income. The right tools are a life and time saver. I wish I had had the right tools when I started.

You will find many different tools to help you with your blog, but the reality is that some are better than others. Some of these tools can be a lot of work.

I was so happy to find a series of recommended tools and learn about what they do in my LadyBossBlogger course. These tools are great and would have saved me a lot of research time when I started my blog. I will gladly take them now and add them to the tools that I already use. As a matter of fact, I am already using some of the recommended tools,  which makes me feel better about my research skills!

Personal Branding?

One early subject in the LadyBossBlogger course is branding. I was really happy to see this topic at the beginning of the course because it is a very important thing to take into consideration.

I was also very impressed with the detailed way the course guides you through the process and explains pretty much everything you need to know to properly create your own brand. It only took me a few years to get there by myself, so that at that point it was more a rebrand. Kudos to the LadyBossBlogger crew!

Drum Roll for the Plugins

Plugins posed a big challenge for me. Honestly, I added and probably still have completely useless plugins (yes, removing them is on my to-do list). Plugins can great and make your blogging life so much easier as long as you use the correct ones. Once again, I was really happy to see that this topic was an early subject of the course.

Marketing, platforms, monetization—they’re all part of this course. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am that I came across it. I will probably revisit it a couple of times once I complete the whole thing!
