You might have noticed an increase of symbols added to the tags on your laundry care labels for the different types of fabrics, while years ago the washing instructions were a lot less and a lot simpler. With the passing of time and the creation of new fabrics, new washing care instructions have been added to the labels.
What does it mean?
I have more than once found a hieroglyphic symbol on my laundry that leaves me clueless as of what to do. Yes, the instructions are there, but what do they mean?
Very often all you find is just the symbol and if you do not know it means, you might be washing something in hot water that was meant for warm water, or even worse, washing a piece of clothing that should be dry cleaned only.
The symbols will let you know how to better care for your laundry and help you to protect and properly wash the different types of items in your laundry basket.
How to translate the symbols when there is no wording with the care labels?
I found this informative graphic that Clorox had put together to enlighten people about the mysteries of the laundry basket!
The second part of the laundry process –
It would be great if once you had uncovered the mysteries of the symbols on the care labels, you were done worrying about damaging or not taking proper care of your clothing, but there is a second part of the process…
Ironing can be as challenging as the washing portion of your laundry.
The same way there are instructions on how to wash your clothing, there are instructions that are as important on how to iron your clothes.
Different fabrics need different temperatures –
Raise your hand if you have ever set your iron to the wrong temperature and ruined a piece of clothing!
Since the iron cannot have all the different fabrics noted on it, getting the proper temperature for some of the new fabric blends can sometimes include a little guesswork.
Eliminating the guesswork –
Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to worry about getting the right temperature for your clothes and could just plug in the iron and start ironing?
Yes it would and make the process easier. Well, as a matter of fact, Rowenta launched the ROWENTA STEAM CARE DW3180
This was designed to simplify the ironing process by providing a worry-free ironing on a wide selection of fabrics.
No settings –
The new DW3180 Steamcare Steam Iron has no settings, which means you can iron different fabrics without having to change the temperature between fabrics.
With no thermostat dial, the iron combines temperature and steam to provide detailed ironing on different types of fabric without causing damage in the process!
Great performance and a time saver
The sturdily constructed iron simplifies the ironing process and saves you time. All you have to do is iron one piece after another without having to adjust the temperature.
Now you can iron your delicate fabrics with ease and extend the life of your clothing.
Rowenta has kindly offered one lucky Born 2 Impress reader, the chance to win a DW3180 Steamcare Steam Iron!
