Getting a good night’s sleep starts with your bedroom. There are small steps we can take to make our bedrooms the optimal place to recharge.
Let’s get one thing straight: sleeping is the way our bodies can recover and recharge, which is why a good night’s sleep is so important. Sleep deprivation or a poor sleeping habit can leave us drained and sluggish, which ultimately affects the way we perform at work, our fitness levels, and our lives in general. Poor sleep can also affect our mood, so a restful night of sleep is highly important.
Many Elements Can Disrupt Your Sleeping Patterns
Many factors can contribute to a restless night, and the environment is one of them. Try to stay away from anything that can cause you to stress before bed. Computers, smartphones, and work-related items should be put aside at least one hour before going to bed.
Avoid Clutter
Believe it or not, a clean and uncluttered room contributes to a more restful night. Avoid creating clutter and try to keep your room as neat as possible.
The Right Lighting
The proper lighting or lack of it is elementary for a good night’s sleep. Rooms with too much light can affect how you sleep and how easily you wake up during the night.
Colors Are Also Important
The right colors are also an important factor. Go for calming colors such as blue, neutrals, and earth tones to promote relaxation and a better night’s sleep.
Scents
The sense of smell is very strong, so the right scents, such as lavender, can help you improve the level of relaxation you need for better night’s sleep.
Invest in a Good Mattress
If you consider that we spend a third of our lives in bed, then it’s really not rocket science to realize that we should invest in a good-quality mattress. The firmness of the mattress is as important as its quality.
Whenever possible, visit a store that has different mattresses that you can try before buying. Many brands also offer trial periods, which is great if you are not 100% sure of the firmness you need for your mattress.
Bedding Is as Important as Your Bed
So you have invested in a brand-new mattress. Great! But the proper bedding is as important as the mattress. The softness, weight, and even materials of your sheets and bedding can affect your sleep.
The Right Bedding
What should you look for in your bedding? That depends on different factors, such as location. If you live in a warmer environment, then the thickness and weight of your comforter are very important.
Do You Suffer from Allergies?
An air purifier is always a nice addition to your bedroom but certainly not the only thing you can do to help allergies. People often disregard or do not pay close attention to the materials they bring into their bedroom, and this could make a huge difference for allergy sufferers.
If this is the case for you, then a lightweight, eco-friendly comforter made of natural materials such as wool will help regulate the body temperature, keeping you warmer during the cooler season and cooler during the warmer times of the year. Keeping the ideal body temperature during the night will prevent you from waking up because you are either too warm or too hot.
The ideal comforter will keep you warm when it is cold and prevent you from overheating when the temperature is higher so that you do not have to add or remove layers to your bed.
You also want your bedding to wick away moisture without making you feel cold or clammy, a feature that will reduce tossing and turning and deliver a more restful sleep.
Is the Texture Important?
A soft and nice-to-the-touch texture certainly makes for an overall comfort that can affect your ability to rest during the night.
Machine Washable
Yes, please! A machine-washable comforter makes for easy caring and hassle-free maintenance.
No need to lose your sleep over cleaning your comforter ( pun intended)
I have tried several comforters and my favorite so far is MyComforter light from Sleep and Beyond, a hypoallergenic comforter that rounds up all the main requirements to help with good night sleep.
There are actually three different ways to care for your comforter:
1st choice: Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle and reduced agitation. Machine dry, air cycle.
2nd choice: Use washable cover.
3rd choice: Regular sunning and airing. The sun will naturally revitalize and disinfect wool bedding.
Ready for a good night sleep?
Sleep and Beyond have kindly offered one lucky Born 2 Impress reader, the chance to win a free MyComforter light in size of choice!

I’d love to try their Organic Sheet set. Looks very nice and natural…something I need! A good night’s sleep….oh, just being able to comfortable, and to be able to sleep for more than 4 hours a stretch. I really don’t have any nighttime rituals except for my evening prayer.
I would love to try out the MyWooly pillow. I am very picky about pillows and am always searching for a better one. This one looks like it would meet my picky pillow needs.
The My Dual Side Pillow looks really comfortable. I wake up with neck aches and headaches a lot and have struggled to find the right pillow for years. I’d be willing to give this a try.
How about those organic sheet sets they have? I love the idea of organic cotton, with no worries about pesticides or carcinogenic chemicals. I do like cotton sheets for a good nights sleep. I like it a little cool at night, and I add an extra quilt.
I think I NEED the MyTopper! My bedtime ritual is comprised of my nightly ablutions, as my husband calls them. It’s my skincare routine, and it even though it sort of wakes me up, it’s also relaxing and it cues my body that it’s time to get sleepy. I never skip it.
I would like to try My Woolie Side Pillow – I have been on the hunt for a new pillow for a few months and this looks wonderful! my idea of a good night sleep is 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
I’m a side sleeper so the MyWoolly side pillow would be perfect for me. And my idea of a perfect nights sleep is not to be woken up in the middle of the night as it’s hard enough to fall asleep in the first place.
I liked many of the products that Sleep and Beyond offers. One of my choices would be the myDual Side Pillow. Finding a good pillow is one of my toughest challenges.
I’d like to try myTravel Pillow. My idea of a good night’s sleep is eight hours of quiet, but that rarely happens.
I would like to have the Organic Sheet Set.
I’d like to try the “mySheet Set”. My idea of a good night’s sleep is when you wake up refreshed – that’s when you know you’ve had a good night’s sleep. I don’t have a ritual which is probably why I don’t have more “good nights” – I have gotten in the habit of having Alexa play a variety of rainy sounds to help me fall asleep
I also like the myWoolly® Side Pillow
I would love to try the myWoolly® Side Pillow.
Sorry, my answer was a little short, so I can add to it. I am a side sleeper. It is hard for me to find a pillow that is comfortable on my neck and shoulders. Love to try something that may help alleviate some of my discomfort.
Oh I really love the my wooly side pillow. I need to order 2 of those. It sounds amazing and perfect for myself and my husband
I’d like to try the My Wooly Pillow. I have a hard time finding good pillows. I can easily sleep anytime and anywhere, but I need a good pillow.
I would like to also try the Organic cotton mattress protector. It’s important to keep your mattress clean and in good shape to get the longest use out of it. To get a good night’s sleep I need my room completely dark and the fan on the background noise is so relaxing to me.
I’d love to try “Mywoolly Pillow” because then maybe I could actually get a full night’s sleep! I have bought so many pillows, it’s ridiculous, and none of them is ever exactly right. It would be wonderful to find a pillow that is actually the right one for a change! 🙂 My idea of a good night’s sleep is realizing that for the first time in about 15 years, my eyes didn’t pop open between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. And night rituals… yes, I always spend time talking with my daughter before bedtime and it’s our quiet time… both love it.
I like the myMerino mattress Topper. It looks so comfortable. I usually sleep for about 7 hours a night . I like to have it completely dark and quiet. During the school year I wake up at around 6am to get the kids ready.

I’d like to try MyTopper. Keeping me cool in the summer and warm in the winter and the fact that it lasts for years are two things that are important to me.
My idea of a good night sleep would be to actually get more than 2 hours at a time. My dog wakes me up in the night every time she hears a noise or wants to go outside.
I spray my pillow with lavender every night and I think I fall asleep faster since I started that routine.
The organic sheets look nice!
I would really like to try the mywooly side pillow. I became accustomed to sleeping on my right side while I was pregnant and haven’t switched back to my stomach. I don’t have any nighttime rituals aside from turning off my phone 30 min before bed. My idea of a good night’s sleep is 8 uninterrupted hours a night. Not very possible with a newborn unfortunately!
I like the myWoolly Side Pillow. My idea of a good nights sleep is to get a back massage! It helps so much!

Any night time rituals? – shower, jammies, night cap, nightly news.
I need a solid 8 hours!!
I would love the MYtopper. I usually sleep with rain noise machine. I find the rain really soothing
For maximum softness with support, the myWolly Pillow looks like it would deliver the ultimate comfort. Waking up refreshed, without stiffness, is proof of a proper night of rest. It’s only a daydream that I could eliminate my nightly ritual of wrestling my pillow until I eventually reach slumber land.
I would also like to own one of the organic sheet sets. Good quality sheets are key to a comfortable night sleep. One ritual that helps me sleep well is no TV in the bedroom.
I would love to try myWooly Pillow. I’ve been looking for a good pillow for awhile now.
The myWoolly® Side Pillow sounds fantastic. I sleep on my side often and this would be great.

I take a hot hot shower for my neck pain and then i listen the the home pod usually the news and watch tv even though i cant hear it and go to bed
The mywooly side pillow looks really comfortable for me as a side sleeper. I consider a good night’s sleep to be one in which I go to bed at my normal time and wake up just before my alarm without having any middle of the night awakenings. I think taking a warm bath before bed with some lavender epsom salts, then reading a couple chapters in a book is a nice relaxing way to get ready for bed.
I really like the Organic sheet set. It looks very nice. A good night’s sleep would be for me to sleep all night without waking up, numerous times.
I really want to try themyMerino® Topper! . I try and get 7-9 hours a sleep per night! i have a ritual of reading before bed!

I would like to try the myWoolly Side Pillow.
I’m in love with their myDual® Side Pillow. I’ve tried all sorts of pillows and pillow arrangements for my side-sleeping but have never seen anything like this. I know my sleep would be so much more restful if i wasn’t tossing and turning moving pillows all night long!
I would like to try the mywooly side pillow, I like a pillow on each side so I can roll either way. A restful night is when I fall right to sleep!

The pillows look really good, especially the myWoolly Pillow®. I like that it’s washable and adjustable. For me, a good night’s sleep means falling asleep easily, and waking refreshed. I like to watch tv before bed, but that’s not good sleep hygiene. Reading before bed is better, and I enjoy it too.
I would love to have one of the merino comforters!! I love that it regulates body temperature. I tend to get really hot when I sleep, so this could be a great comforter for me.
I like the look of My Woolly Side Pillow. My sleep tip is don’t eat AT LEAST 4 hours before bed. You will sleep better if your body doesn’t have to work to digest midnight snacks.

I also love the organic cotton mattress protecter as thats another item I really need for my new mattress. there are so many options out there and Im trying to find one thats safe/non toxic for my daughter and me to sleep on so I havent been able to make up my mind yet. I really like their myWoolly® Side Pillow. I have difficulty getting a good night’s sleep. I go to bed early and am up by 5AM. I have degenerative disc disease in my back and my sciatic nerve causes me pain issues when I sleep. Even with a prescribed sleep aid and pain medication, I have difficulty getting restful sleep. Thanks for the super giveaway opportunity.
When it comes to electronics/tech, I’m usually up-to-date and the first to seek out new things. However, I can’t say the same for home comforts. I’d love to try the MyWoolly pillows. Not only do they look incredibly comfortable, but they are washable and come in a couple sizes. I honestly didn’t even know wool pillows existed – I thought there was down and fake fluff/cotton fill pillows. Thanks for giving me some new items to look into!

I would love to try the My Comforter 100% natural washable wool filled year-round comforter. It looks soft and light but not so light that it would not keep you warm. My bedtime ritual pretty much consists of washing off make up, taking med, and getting into a nice cold bed in a cold room. I usually then watch tv for about half an hour and then turn it off and go to bed.
The organic sheets sound really comfy. My night time rituals include shutting all the electronics an hour before going to bed and I also run a fan so it helps block any noise.

I am desperately seeking a comfortable pillow, and the myWooly pillow looks like it might be the answer. I can’t stand foam, even the memory foam ones…too hard and I wind up with headaches and stiff neck. I do like goose down, but they are so pricey. The sheets and comforters look so wonderfully self-indulgent, too,
