I received a Pakpod tripod in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Compact, lightweight, waterproof, and quick to set up, Pakpod is by far the most versatile tripod I have come across…Made with quality materials, this one of a kind tripod weighs less than a pound and it is built from the same durable materials you find on bike and ski helmets. The very compact tripod can easily fit in a bag, carry on or a backpack and features a patented locking system that secures all three legs in crazy, asymmetrical positions that are impossible to get with a traditional tripod.
Better yet, Pakpod allows you to stake the legs securely into grass, dirt, sand, and even snow. Invented by Maine-based free diving film maker Steve Underwood, Pakpod is made and built for the outdoors and is one gadget that photo enthusiasm will love!
You have never seen a tripod like this one
The versatility of this tripod is unlike anything I have seen before…I am not a professional photographer but love photography and I am always looking to improve my photography skills. I try more and more difficult shots and this has been invaluable as it allows me to get some shots that otherwise I could have never gotten.
Pakpod can be mounted on just about everything you can think of while in the outdoors and even some crazy spots indoors – trees, fences, signposts, ceiling fans, car hoods, kayaks, rock walls, bicycles, hammocks, baby swings, sailboat masts, white water rafts…Well you get the idea!
The Pakpod is very easy to use, transport and set up. So now you can bring your tripod anywhere you go. This is a must have for anyone looking to get unique photos and one with a need of a tripod. This is a tripod that really can be used by virtually anyone…Yes that includes shots of the kiddos in the park.
There are truly countless ways to use this tripod and to make it even more versatile, the brand offers a variety of accessories that can be incorporated to your Pakpod.

Wow this thing weighs less than a pound!
My husband is an outdoor photographer. And as much as I like and respect his hobby I hate carry his old , oh so heavy , tripod. Especially when we are traveling by plain and every pound is counting. So, I really like this new product and its lightweight (less than a pound) is a huge plus for me.
Well, this is pretty neat! Ir is freeze=proof, has 36 toe-down points & goes underwater. I’d say you could take it anywhere & get any angle. I’m not a very good photographer (lol, I’m being honest)—but I like trying!
I learned that it’s 12.75″ when folded up an extends to almost 18″ at full height.
I love that it comes with stakes! Amazing that it weighs less than a pound too! What a great product. My Dad is a photographer and would love this!
I learned they offer eco-green stakes for your tripod! I love taking photos outside and this would be a big helps. I love how portable this is!
I learned that there are different stakes you can buy to use with this tripod. That’s really cool, as I imagine it would make it even easier to get a solid balance in weird places! I am an everything photographer. I do love nature shots, as well as quaint small towns, big cities, or interesting architecture.
It’s super light and portable. Thanks for the chance.
I learned that the pakpod can be used in the snow & in the water. It shoots Time-lapse & still photos. It fits in a back pack.
In my extensive use of tripods I find the most important feature is not the ability for the tripod to cater to multiple angles but rather the ability for the tripod to sustain durability in the joints through aggressive wear. This tripod seems to have the quality of parts and build to enable long term reliability. There are many tripods out there, this one may be the best!
It is so light. Amazing.
I’m not an outdoor photographer but my brother is. Interesting that you can stake this tripod into snow! It’s also lightweight, which is very convenient.
I learned that this is ultra light and compact! I also love that you can stake this in
Into turf, sand or snow.
I learned that the Pakpod tripod weighs less than a pound. That sounds great for traveling. I’m not much of an outdoor photographer, but I would like to be. I think stability is most important for a tripod.
I learned that the Pakpod tripod weighs less than a pound. That sounds great for traveling. I’m not much of an outdoor photographer, but I would like to be. I think stability is most important for a tripod.
I love to take pictures yes. I consider myself a learning photographer I capture pictures and people thing wow are you a photographer and I’m not, so I love that it’s waterproof because most exciting memories are in the water while your on vacation so that is great.
I love how the tripod is waterproof. I am somewhat an outdoor photographer, it depends on where I am. Stability is most important for a tripod because that will reduce the blurriness.
I think it is genius to have stakes on the end of the legs. That makes it so different from all the other tripods I’ve seen. I am a parent, so, yes, I consider myself an outdoor photographer. I’m a novice, but I’m passionate about the photos I take of our family adventures.
I learned that its lightweight and can be used underwater or in the colder temperatures. It also has stakes that can be placed anywhere to hold the tripod steady. I like to take pictures of everything whether its the outside or photos of family but i’m still in the learning faze. My most important feature for a tripod would have to be if its lightweight and how easily I can carry it around.
I learned that the frame is high impact durable. this will be great as I do drop things from time to time. I also found out it is very light weight.

This tripod is waterproof and can fit in your backpack, which is very handy. The most important feature of a tripod for me is ease in setup. This tripod also is built to stand on a variety of landscapes which is important to me as well as I like to shoot on different types of earth.
It is weightless almost which is great for travel. A tripod is important for a steady photo with no shaky hand blur as well as a timed camera so that I can jump in as well. I love taking pictures of my children because of the memories they will have when I am gone. This tripod would be a great addition to my photography and memory catching.
I learned that the metal spikes will balance the tripod on a variety of surfaces. I’d like to give this as a gift to my cousin who loves to take outdoor photos when he’s hiking.
This is exactlly what I need. Since I am a horrible picture taker this will help me out. keep my hands steady to take the picture.
Love this tripod!! Very versatile and weighs less than a pound. Easy to carry and easy to set up in any environment.
Learned that you can setup the tripod on the side of concrete/buildings. Tripod with the stakes give you more versatility. Great stability and portability.
I love the fact the you can set it up under water and take pictures! also would make taking pictures more steady plus I could get all of our family in a photo shoot for once!
I’ve learned that this product is lightweight, which makes it an outdoor photographers best friend. My last tripod was so flimsy it broke within a year, and it was actually a pain in the butt to tote around, because it didnt break down easy, so I like that the pakpod is easy to transport also. I personally love to take nature photographer, but as I’ve had children, I’ve learned much more about the camera trying to take pictures of little ones running around
I learned that it is ultra light. That’s important to me because I do long distance backpacking and always trying to keep my pack light. I love taking outdoor photos.
I’m not an outdoor photographer. My sister is the photographer of the family. She takes photos of all family outing like hiking and camping. I like that the Pakpod is Ultra light and compact. The one we have is big and heavy.

I learned that the Pakpod Tripod is pretty rugged. It is resilient to aggressive wear. That is nice for on the go. I can carry it in my backpack and not worry about it. It doesn’t matter what kind of terrain I’m trekking through. It can be set up on everything, even snow.
I like that it’s compact and easy to pack. We don’t take a lot of photos but it would be useful for family pictures. We are always looking for easily portable accessories.
I have taken some photos outdoors. The important feature is outdoor lighting. If you can use a stand to adjust the camera and make best use of lighting that is fantastic. I love that this stand is stable and versatile.
I love that it’s light weight and has 36 rigging points and telescoping legs. And with 180 degree range of motion no shot is impossible to get!
I learned that it Rugged and quick to deploy: Constructed of high-impact ABS plastic and stainless steel. I do take outdoors photos. I look for a tripod that is durable and lightweight
I learned that it only weighs 15.5 oz and is 12.75” when folded. I don’t take a lot of outdoor photos, but I would love to start and this would be so helpful in doing so. I think a tripod that is easily portable, lightweight, and sturdy would be most important.
