Summer is here and with the hot weather, comes the summer vacation plans for the whole family…and a very important tool to have a good vacation is to have the proper gear if your travels will include any outdoors plans. KELTY is based in Boulder, Colorado, and uses the natural backdrop of the Rocky Mountains to test, create and continually innovate within their diverse outdoor product families of Backcountry, Trail, Vintage, Lighting, Basecamp and KIDS.
Kelty combines the best in new technology with a healthy dose of common sense to create exceptionally made affordable priced outdoor products that are meant to enhance the outdoors experience for parents and kids.
I discovered the Kelty products a couple of years ago and since then I have been able to try a couple of their products including the Speedster Swivel-Deluxe . See complete review HERE .
In this opportunity I bring you the Transit 3.0 kids carrier that comes in four different colors to match your preference…I must add that by looking at the photos, my least favorite color was the green, but I had the chance to see it up close as that is exactly the color I received for this review and I actually really like it after I saw it…But back to the facts, The Kelty Transit 3.0 kids carrier is light weight and more compact than I had anticipated…Actually it the size of some large travel backpacks.( Length: 12 in / 30 cm ,Width: 12 in / 30 cm, Height: 21 in / 53 cm), and weighs about 5.4 lbs.
The Transit 3.0 offers a comfortable and secure fit for both parents and kids. The Transit has a series of really handy features like an adjustable torso that will offer a comfortable fit to different users. You will find a flap on the hip belt and to adjust it, all you’ll need to do is to open the flap, pull a small pin and slide up or down depending on what you need.
The carrier also features laminated, padded and contoured waist belt, laminated, curved, padded shoulder straps, and laminated, padded back panel for added comfort. The carrier comes with lots of bells and whistles that include multiple storage pockets an organizer pocket, front storage pocket, and a hipbelt water bottle pocket …In addition, the Transit 3.0 kids carrier has a foot-stabilizer for safe loading, carry/lift handles, padded adjustable-height child’s seat, toy loops to keep the little ones entertained while in the carrier, a sun hood ( a big favorite for me), and it even comes with a changing pad.
As you can see Kelty really did its homework when it comes to this light weight outdoors carrier. The Transit 3.0 is a five-point, adjustable child’s harness for added security. The maximum weight load (Child + Gear + Pack): 40 lbs / 18.1 kg, the carrier is meant for kids with a minimum weight of 16 lbs / 7.3 kg; and a maximum: 30 lbs / 13.6 kg.
The Kelty Transit 3.0 has a retail price of $199.95 and as I mentioned before comes in four different colors. The carrier is available at Kelty’s online store and selected retailers.

I love the gunnison tents!
I like the pavilion shade house! Hubby doesn’t like the sun so this would be great for us.

I like the Galactic 15 Hoody sleeping bag looks comfy
As our family is SO big, I’d sure love to see that Frontier Ponderosa 8 person tent. We have camped plenty but find that the sleeping space for 6 or so really means you need an 8 person tent, for backpacks or bags, some personal gear and possibly to house a cooler too. The screened vestibule in this one would be SO awesome! The 6 of us could go and have plenty of room with this tent.
This one looks SO grand, but it is pricey and also weighs almost 50 lbs. Wonder how hard it would be to put it up and take down?
Noiseless zipper pulls would be so nice…early risers would not annoy those late risers. ahem, like me!
