The birth of Sassy, Inc. took place in 1982 with the purchase of the Sassy Seat Company of Fort Lauderdale; FL. Sassy initially had headquarters in Northbrook, IL and a manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, MI. In 1996, Sassy launched a line of unique toys created in partnership with developmental experts.
Sassy’s unique approach focused on stimulating four specific developmental areas during baby’s first year of life. This approach, along with insightful designs, bright colors, and superior quality stood out in the infant toy category and the toys became a fast favorite with parents and babies. As a parent, I know how important it is to stimulate babies in early stages and finding the right toys and products can be really challenging.
I love trying different products in this area and to see the new products in the market. That is the reason why I was really happy to try two of the Sassy toys : la-lee™ discovery spots: The adorable yellow creature features bright different polka dots on his tummy that release silly sounds when your baby gently brushes a hand or touches them…..Unlike similar products, the baby does not have to really press the different sound making points , a simple touch makes la-lee make these electronic like sounds that would make the delight of any baby .
La-lee features different textures and colors too and its hair with thin ribbons that are sticking up are sure to be appreciated by any baby. The doll comes in try me mode which makes the black and white striped dot on its tummy make noises.
When you turn it on, all the dots make different noises to keep your baby engaged and entertained! La-lee recently received an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award. It has a suggested retail price of $19.99.
ba-bee is another adorable little creature for your little one’s entertainment. Ba-bee features bright blue corduroy fabric that is great to develop your baby’s sense of touch and comes with a set of baby keys….Anyone knows babies have a real weakness for keys!
This makes for a great on the go companion for your little one. Ba-bee also has a contrasting black and white striped pocket that is great to attract baby’s attention and it is also a handy place to stow his keys.
The different textures help with the baby’s sense whether exploring the row of hairs on top of ba-bee’s head, along with his shiny fabric ears, the stiff felt fringe down his sides, or his striped fabric arms and feet…..This gives a whole world of colors and textures for your little one to experiment with….In addition Ba-bee makes a soft, rattling sound with even the slightest movement… .. Ba-bee has a retail price of 9.99.
