As you might remember, I decided to have a breast lift and liposuction back in January of this year, which at this point, I am still not 100 % recovered from. Physically, I am already healed, but I was left with some more-than-undesired scares on both breast and some on my back due to the liposuction.
I have talked to my surgeon, and he is confident that things will improve, but I am a bit eager to be done with the whole thing and see the final results. I noticed some keloids have formed on my scars, and needless to say, I was not really happy with that.
Ideally, I would go and have a consultation with the doctor that performed the surgery, but I had my surgery done in the Dominican Republic and have not been able to find my way back and have a chat with the doctor (hopefully I can do that in December).
The Possible Side Effects
When you undergo surgery, there is going to be a scar, and despite all the medical advances, there are very few solutions for those to reduce the scaring after surgery.
I was prepared for some scaring, but when the scars developed keloids, I was less inclined to wait and see what happened. I started to do some research on different creams and gels to help with scaring, and one day I received a pitch about a new product called Skinuva Scar gel developed by a board-certified ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeon named Dr. Christopher Zoumalan.
Dr. Christopher Zoumalan
Dr. Zoumalan has spent the past several years investigating wound healing and how to best manage surgical scars in his patients that undergo surgery. He wanted to give them a way to treat such scars.
The Skinuva Scar gel looked like a very promising product, and I was really looking forward to trying it and seeing if it could do anything for me.
Skinuva Scar Gel
The gel was developed by Dr. Zoumalan and his team of scientists, clinicians, stem cell experts, and chemists. They used clinical data along combined with a selection of ingredients to create this groundbreaking scar healing gel.
I have been using the Skinuva Scar gel for about weeks now. I apply it religiously in the morning after I shower and then at night before I go to bed.
According to the brand, it can take a couple of months to start seeing results, but I swear I already see an improvement. Wishful thinking? Maybe. Only time will tell, but I am pretty sure I am already improving.
So far I am loving this scar cream and have very high hopes for it. I will post a follow up in a few weeks to share how things are going and how much the scars have improved.
