The internet and the ability to stay connected through WiFi while traveling has opened a million doors for us: information, communication and of course travel, we are traveling more than we ever did before.
Getting to different countries and places is a lot easier which makes travel very appealing to people of different generations. Yes, not only millennials are traveling, as a matter of fact, people whom never travel before are taking the leap and visiting parts of the world they never visited before.
WiFi while traveling
Getting wifi while traveling allows us to stay informed and connected at all times which make the traveling experience, not only easier but also less frightening, especially for first-time travelers.
Having a good WiFi connection while traveling gives means peace of mind and the ability to connect with home at work as needed.
What you should know before you embark on your next adventure.
Yes, WiFi while traveling is great, but it is also quite expensive using your phone while you are abroad means a good hit to your budget. There are however some phone providers often offer plans that are meant for people that travel often.
I have a plan that covers data in a good number of countries including most of the Americas. My experience with it is that phone calls you still have to pay for ( pay less), but they are certainly not free, text messages and data, however, are free.
The downside?
The data never seems to work very well and is extremely slow unless you are somewhere with WiFi, which can be very inconvenient, especially if you are relying on your phone to use the internet and nav app ( love Waze).
I travel to the Dominican Republic quite often and I am always running around trying to figure out the best way to get connected.
Skyroam Solis
Skyroam Solis is a compact, fast portable WiFi and power charging device, for international travel that allows you to charge your devices on-the-go with an embedded 6000 mAh power bank and USB-C connection which makes this portable WiFi device, very handy and convenient.
The device offers One-touch access to unlimited WiFi in over 120 countries – no SIMs needed, one thing I would recommend, is to completely charge your device and then set up your Skyroam Solis before you leave the US to ensure a smooth set up.
What do I love?
You can have a safe hotspot that can be shared with up to 5 devices which means that you can have your whole party worry free for one same fee.
They charge $9.99 per day divided by 5 = not too shabby!
You have the option to buy your device which I would recommend for frequent travelers, or you have the option to rent a device.
The Skyroam Solis retails for $149.99 + $9.00 for a day pass, each day pass gives you unlimited global internet access for 24 hours from the time you activate it. You can also rent a device for $9.95 ( available for pickup at selected airports).
For a limited time, you can get their unlimited monthly subscription that enables continuous global WiFi and connectivity for 30 day and you pay only $99.00.
