Sometimes the modest and smallest things in life make the best memories and something as simple as a homemade dinner and movie with someone dear to you can be as special as the fanciest of dinner in the hottest restaurant in town.

Its all about priorities

Life is all about priorities and what we expect from life. The last decade has increasingly moved to a more stressful and fast-moving society in which minutes seem to move as fast as seconds. The days, weeks, months and years go by at a very scary speed.

To enjoy life’s precious moments, we might need to decide what is more important.  Text someone that is miles away from you or to have an actual conversation with someone sitting with you at the dinner table.

Ask about his/ her day

Asking someone about how their day went shows appreciation and people tend to relax and be more receptive when they can get rid of some of the weight they might have been carrying with them all day.

Open a bottle of wine

You do not need a special occasion to pop open a bottle of wine that has been chilling, it is ready for you to enjoy. You do not need to be a drinker to kick back and relax with a bottle of wine with your significant other.

Set the Ambiance

If the weather permits, bring your dinner out on the patio or balcony where you can enjoy some quiet time and enjoy each other.  If the weather does not cooperate, lower the lights, add some flowers and a scented candle or scented oil that would help you relax and enjoy the company, conversation, and food.

Do Not Over-think It

If you are not a good cook, keep it simple and make a dish that is not going to stress you out.  Remember, the goal is to enjoy a stress-free evening and over-thinking the dinner choice is not the way to do it.

Flowers for him?

It is a common believe that flowers are just for girls, but the reality is, men also appreciate the beauty of flowers. You can choose a beautiful orchid in his favorite color as the centerpiece.

Keep It Simple

Try to keep the table set up simple, clean, and clutter-free.  It’s better to get up a few times to bring out the food rather than create a visual space of chaos on the table.

Don’t Forget the Ambiance Music

A soft melody playing in the background is always a great way to start dinner, just make sure you don’t have to fight the iPod to be heard.
